when my automatic resistor burns out it melts the plastic around the A prong. I burnt up 3 of them. I replaced the fan with a motor craft one to eliminate that being the problem and it burnt again. Im lost as to what could cause it to do that.

My air first started going on and off until it stopped completely. I took the automatic blower motor resistor out and the plastic around the A prong was melted a little. I replaced the resistor and it worked for about 2 weeks or so and burnt again on the A prong. This time I replaced the resistor AGAIN and the blower fan. It worked for a week and dead stopped again burring the A prong on the resistor! I am now out of knowledge of what to check. Anyone have any idea to whats happening or a lead I can find and explore??
