  1. Update: the car has been in the shop since the middle of last week. They have not been able to recreate shifting problem or identify the "particulates". They have driven it over 250 miles and only noticed a slight surge around 30 mph. They let it sit over the weekend and drained tranny fluid this morning, finding metal shavings. They are waiting for a reply from Ford HQ, more than likely replacing the tranny! They also said because tranny was over filled, could cause fluid to foam. Which does not lubricate very good and can over heat easily.
  2. I have a 2011 Sport model. Currently has 68,000 miles. When it was in for it's 60,000 service, the transmission was overfilled by a quart and a half! A couple of thousand miles after that, shifting has not been as smooth as it was. It is very noticeable on the downshift, like popping the clutch on a manual. Took it back in, they found it was overfilled, drained and refilled with proper amount of fluid. Had Ford notate that THEY had overfilled incase there was any problems down the line. Well, 4 days ago, wife heard a grinding noise. I checked the car out when she got home. At first it sounded like a bearing on a pulley going out. After lifting the hood, I could tell the noise was coming from the "rear" of the motor and when I had her put it in gear, the tone of the noise changed. Because our local dealer was busy, it could not go in for 2 days, now the noise has stopped. It is currently still there and they are waiting to her from Ford Tech Line. They had drained some fluid and found some "particulates" in the fluid. Enough to be able to take pictures and send to for. Anyone else experience this or similar problem, Sorry for the length of the post!
