    Hi fistfulladirt,

Will you be continuing with this repair? I can check into some additional options to help things smell sweet again. Just PM me your VIN, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location.

The service department did some "research" and found there is a TSB for the AC stink. Unfortunately, the dash has to be removed to replaced the climate control housing. My car has less than 15k miles and I've had the ac start-up stink since new, and has somewhat permeated the interior of the vehicle.

I have the same issue however I'm not under the bumper to bumper warranty anymore what other options might there be?

  2. 2013 Fusion SE, 81000 miles. When driving, I sometimes hear a noise coming from the vicinity of the gas filler. The noise sounds for all the world like the car is passing gas. Last night I heard it, and when I pulled into a service station I opened the filler door. I pushed on the opening to the tank, and sure enough it sounded like a big fart. It seems pressure is building up in the tank, and it causes the filler tube flaps to vibrate.

Possibly related, every time I stop to get gas the car is hard to start and runs rough for a few seconds after. Every time.

Any ideas on a solution to this?

Exact same thing on mine, the check engine comes and goes, if I let the air in by opening both flaps it and restart the car it wont do it again, also if I drive the car every few hours lets say I wont have it happen again, completely random.

    Check engine code: P2196

Also car does run rough after getting gas for a few seconds as you reported.

50,000 miles on my car, just got it used (about three months ago with 37,000 miles on it, work next door to Ford World Center live about 20-30 miles away), was hoping it would last longer than this before I would have to start paying for repairs so if you find out whats happening with yours maybe I can fix it myself without breaking the bank.

    Thanks!
