  1. Does anyone know of a way to bypass the anti theft system? Also, what type of figures would I be looking at to have keys cut and programmed for the car at a Ford dealership?
  2. The fusion is actually a manual transmission, so no park.I did switch the shifter through different gears. I also switched batteries in the key fob. I bought the car used and it only came with one key. I have been reading a lot about the Ford PATS system and I'm thinking it could be a bad key. There is a slight click when Turing the key to start position but nothing else happens. The thought of taking it to a dealership to have a new key cut and programmed is not pleasant, and what if it doesn't solve the issue? If it is a starter issue, would hitting the starter with a rubber mallet or something similar get the car to at least try and turn over? Anyone else with any advice ?
  3. I drove to work one day, after my shift I went to start my 2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L and it wouldn't start. The car doesn't turn over, there is no noise when twisting key to start position. Lights are bright, high beams work fine, radio works and AC/heat work. I tried jumping the car and still nothing. Upon trying to jump the car I noticed that the anti theft light would come on and blink rapidly opposed to once or twice then going off. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue or any indication as to what is going on with the car. I did do a little research about the issue and I found some information that related the issue to the PAT system in the car. Any information would be greatly appreciated for I am stumped. Thanks in advance
  4. Thanks anyways @akirby, I ended up figuring it out after doing a little research. I think ultimately what happened was that when the inertia switch was tripped it blew two fuses F17 and F43 (power point and coil on plugs). My only set back was after riding my bike to Napa only to purchase the wrong fuses. Ended up costing me and extra trip to the part store. Other than that all seems well.
  5. I pressed the inertia switch a few times before having it towed. It is almost 7:30 here in Denver and only 15 degrees out. Im going to wait for the sun to warm things up a little and then mess with it again. Does anyone think it could be a loose grounding wire or maybe a tripped censor other than the inertia switch?
  6. The car will turn over but won't start. The starter is working properly and everything has power (radio, check engine light, etc.,). It is very strange.
  7. Just like the title says, I was driving my Fusion yesterday and went over a fairly large speed bump. Immediately after going over the speed bump my car died and would not start back up. I checked battery cables, disconnected battery cables to reset computer, reset inertia switch/fuel pump shut off, and nothing seemed to work. I had the car towed back to my place. I have made an appointment at a local Ford dealership. Anyone out there have any experience with this issue? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
