Sorry for the late response I've been slammed at work, weather is warming up and I'm going to be replacing it soon.. I haven't purchased a transmission yet but I'm going hunting for one out of a Mazda 3 seems to be cheaper that way.. My shift cable is also frozen in place now car refuses to go into gear..

Ahh yes the answers I needed! Thanks so much everyone. Is it a hard swap? I've pulled a few transmissions in my day but I've never touched a fusion in my life.

That's what I assumed I just wanted to verify the part # before I purchase one. I see allot of non abs mazada manual transmissions for super cheap.

Howdy all, I just recently came across a decent deal on a long awaited Fusion SE5spd. I purchased the car with a known transmission issue, previous owner somehow destroyed 5th gear entirely the car runs and drives fine with the exception of no 5th gear and the occasional sound of pebbles in the gear box. Onto my real questions I have seen that the Mazda 2.3l and the Ford 2.3l are almost exactly the same engine I'm curious as to if I can use a Mazda transmission and just swap it out for a measly few hundred dollars? You all have more knowledge than me when it comes to fusions so lay it on me. Thanks, DW.
