I have a 2015 Fusion SE, with the non-touch Sync.
According to owner.ford.com, my Sync was updated in August when I took the vehicle in for a re-call (something with the oil change sensor). Since I got the car in April, I've been using Bluetooth Audio to play Spotify, no problems on my iPhone, nor my S7 when I got that. Suddenly, about a month or so ago, Spotify stopped working with Bluetooth Audio. Spotify would just show a Spotify logo and a Ford logo. Through some Googling I figured out that Spotify was automatically going into AppLink mode (which you can't disable). Ok, fine. So I go into mobile applications and use AppLink. Took like 10 minutes the first time, then it worked. Awesome.
Fast forward to about a week ago: that won't work now, and Spotify is NOT going into "AppLink mode." My phone is connected to my car, text messages come through, phone calls come through, all that works. But now I can't get anything over Bluetooth Audio at all. I also tried with my friend's Motorola phone, which he uses no-problem on his 2016 Fusion. When I try to use Bluetooth Audio I get the message "No Bluetooth device) despite all the glyphs appearing stating that my phone is connected. Trying to use "Mobile Applications" just doesn't work. I can select "Spotify" but nothing happens. Using voice commands, I can get it to the "Mobile Applications" menu, but when I say "Spotify" or any other actual application, it just exits voice command. It gives no response at all. Not even the "negative" tone or whatever.
This morning I got ahold of an aux cable, and even THAT won't play through Sync line-in. Somehow it appears that my entire "media" part of my Sync isn't functioning.
The only thing I can think of now is to disconnect the battery. Does anyone have any other ideas?
