  1. If it's anything like my 2012 (which I think/ hope it is) the front is more difficult the the rear. On the front obviously you take of your wheels then it really helps if you loosen your abs bracket to make the line a little more movable so you can slide the old assembly out and not have to finesse it out of there so much. Take the 3 nuts off the strut tower in the engine bay Then there's about 3 bolts in the suspension that hold the assembly up in the perch. You'll need a 14 mm socket and 16 mm. Once you get those off tension should release and your whole spring and strut should be able to be removed now. Angling it out from the bottom towards the front bumper I found is easiest for some reason. (Repeat for each side and reverse for installation) To install springs on the assembly you'll need to rent a spring compressor tool from advanced for $60. You get all your money back when you return it. Removal of spring/ install is super easy. There's only one bolt at the top and then the process of compressing/ decompressing the springs. It just takes a little time. Put everything back together, tighten all bolts and be double sure to check your work. Don't forget to tighten the abs bracket back as well. So on to the rears! So you have the car jacked up on the frame a little bit higher than ground height hopefully. Take another jack and put it under the control arm and jack it up until you get the right angle where you can pull the bolt holding the control arm in. For the rear you'll need Allen keys and the usual 14 and 16 mm sockets. There are 2 bolts that's need to be removed to bring the control arm down. Also there's a nut that has to be loosened... this part I can't remember if it had to come off or not, it had an Allen key in the center. So you have the control arm ready to be moved now. SLOWLY lower your jack and watch as it lowers your control arm and your spring decompresses. Now you should have it at an angle you can naturally pull the spring and strut assembly out from the bottom. Repeat your steps for putting your springs on same as the front. Put everything back together, again make double sure everything is the same as it was. Of course I may have missed something, or said something confusing here, and I am by no means an expert or professional but this should give you an idea and set you on the right track. Just take things slow and work smarter not harder.
  2. I've owned a 2003 4.6, 2011 3.7, and a 2001 5.4 swapped 2v. I've done tuning in every one of them. For sure smooths them out and makes them more responsive. While I owned this Fusion I had the project 5.4 swap which turned out really good. I want to combine my fast car and my comforts car into one with the Fusion. I told myself I wouldn't mod the fusion at all and I held out a couple years but it's just too right for my wants. I love the car, it's more comfortable than a mustang, more practical with cargo room and passenger room. I still want something totally unique and decently quick. I put more emphasis on uniqueness really.
  3. I have tuning planned out with Tradition Motorsports in Port Saint Lucie but I think it's a waste without an additional ~100 hp. But a steeda motor mount is definitely in the plan. I'm thinking about upgrading the sway bars too. I may get a baseline with a tune to start then go from there. A tune isn't very satisfying for me though as I've tuned 3 lightly modded mustangs and it's a nice little peppy difference but nothing really crazy.
  4. I am FWD. according to wiki the tranny is rated for something like 320 tq. But I'm hoping line pressure, a cooler, then a rebuild at some point can give me good results. I am planning on running low boost actually, around 8 pounds. From what I know the engine can handle that for sure. Tranny is the only uncertainty mechanically. Then the other issue is physical space. That's really the only 2 issues.
  5. Well it looks like SHO turbos may just fit with SuperSix's installation kit! I've read every thread on every site possible partaining to Ecoboost turbo swaps to find info and so far have only seen "won't work" with no info backing it up. Now this kit is available that is not a full engine swap, rather, it's adapters to attach the Ecoboost headers. From what I've gathered the SHO and Flex turbos are smaller than the F150's and are rated at a different HP. So everything I've seen supports my theory that it WILL work. It'll just have to be done with either the SHO or Flex manifolds and turbos. Now super six put the last piece of the puzzle together. I already have mustang wheels on my car and springs so I'm thinking a little more suspension work and these turbos will get the job done. If anyone has more info to put forth I'd love to hear it. I've done a LOT of research on the differences between the 3.5 NA and the 3.7 NA and the 3.5 EB. SuperSix has a very good write up on the subject as well. Also I'm thinking a tranny cooler and increased line pressure may preserve the transmission until a rebuild must be done at some point. So what I'm looking for here is some insightful knowledgeable help to tell me if after considering all the info there's anything else that would prevent this from being possible? I want to see all the angles here because from my POV it is totally possible.
  6. So I just put on some 18x9 AMR dark stainless wheels today. Tires are 255/40/18. Fits perfectly though something might have to be adjusted when I lower it, it's a tight fit. I looked on so many forum topics and googled the crap out of this before I decided to take a chance and do this though I had no diffinitive answer if it would fit. If you're interested in mustang rims in the 30-45mm offset range almost all of them fit. Mine are 30mm. Stock is 44mm. The tire height I chose is the same as stock. These are nice rims and very popular lately even being put on BMW's and other sedans. The dark stainless matches the dark chrome grille really well! *having issues uploading it... *
  7. So I thought I'd introduce myself and my car. I have a 2012 fusion sport. I just put AMR dark stainless wheels on my car today and I love them. Other than that I have a sound system and the rest of the car is stock. I love these forums and I'd love to help put more info out there and I'm gonna start by going over rim and tire fitment with the fusion as that info is actually very hard to find and I had to learn everything on my own. Anyway, good to be here.
