when i lock it ,,it is still unlocked
BlueGooSE12 replied to amx1397's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
2012 SE 2.5 Mine just started this crap today. Driver's door tries repeatedly to lock but just won't engage. You can see and hear the manual lever on the door handle itself moving, but it won't kick in. About a week ago it acted like it was only half unlocked when I went to exit the car. Inside handle wouldn't budge until I locked it and unlocked it with the door button (not the lever). It's worked fine ever since. I don't always lock it when I'm home but it would be nice to have all 4 doors locked when I'm out shopping. Just seems odd to have issues with a car that's not THAT old. Only 35k miles too -
2.5L automatic is kinda gutless in the lower gears .... but once you get up to speed, plenty of power to move the car around.

Do all newer Fusions have this as standard? -
Ford Fiesta 2012, Honda Fit 2012, or Nissan Sentra 2012?

Yep the Fit didn't get the crap-tacular CVT transmission until sometime after '12 -
Hatchbacks are cool but I love a car with a big ol' butt. I'd drive a freaking hearse if I was allowed to park it at work, but they say it's "bad taste" to drive a hearse to a children's hospital. LOL

I have no idea. The only Ford hatch/wagons here are Fiesta, Focus, and C-Max. It's a real shame. I LOVE me a 5 door!

Estate= station wagon? Here in the US there's a blurry line between wagon and hatchback. Even dealers will call the same car by 2 different terms. We only have Fusion sedans here unfortunately.

I dunno. Some versions of batman are gray, black, and yellow. I think you could work with that. I've seen some door projectors that shine the old school black and yellow bat-signal. Those might be cool.

Good to know! I hate my beige interior. Maybe someday I'll luck out and find a junker with a different color in there. I'll know not to grab my SAE tools.

Cadillac SRX or Ford Fusion Hybrid?
BlueGooSE12 replied to zx870838557's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I don't know about the newer hybrids but I was behind a 2nd generation the other day and OMG was that thing peppy! My wimpy little 2.5 gas burner couldn't keep up with him at red lights. -

I'm more of a psychological thriller type. In no order: Silence of the lambs Bone Collector Misery That sort of thing. I think I'd like the Saw movies more if they weren't so unnecessarily gory. I only watched one or two... -
Power Steering Failure at 48000 Miles (2013)
BlueGooSE12 replied to mdr87's topic in General Powertrain Discussion
when I was reading consumer reviews before buying my '12, there was one that complained of this exact scenario. He too got stuck with a $2000 bill (his words). He had it repaired and Ford only warrantied the repair for two years. They didn't consider power steering to be "drivetrain" for whatever reason. This guy's car actually DID fail though, not just the warning note on his screen. Now, granted, this was a 2012 and the recall specifies the '13 models, but this makes me wonder how common this issue really is? -
Wow. Glad you're OK! Gonna get another Fusion? So what kind of gas mileage did you get with your 6cyl? I have a '12 SE but it's the 4 banger. I'm getting about 30MPG, mostly highway.

Fortunately for me and the car, I know the seller very very well and he stayed on top of maintenance. I know he had the oil and cabin filter changed a few days before I picked it up. I'll look into the spark plugs and such, thanks!

Welcome! I've been out of the Ford game so long I didn't even know they made an AWD car ((smacks head)). But I'm back in the Blue Oval Brigade and learning something new every day. Beautiful car!

Hi, my name is Gwen and I just bought a 2012 Fusion a couple of weeks ago. My family has always had Fords and my parents still have several, but I've been part of the bowtie brigade since I sold my beloved Aspire back in 2009 or so. But here it is all these years later, my Cobalt is acting up, and this Fusion popped up on my radar when my friend told me he was selling his mom's car. It has a few dings from being an "old lady" car, but the price was right, the mileage is low (<30k) and I really missed having a 4 door. Being a 4 cylinder, it's a little bit pokey at takeoff but so far I really like this car. MPG isn't quite what my Chevy gets, but the Fusion is a bigger car with a bigger engine, so i expected this. Anyway, his name is Goose and he's a steel blue SE with a boring beige interior. He's fun to drive but a little drab. Hope to figure out some sort of exterior flair soon! I'll post up pics soon. My home PC is acting stupid and it's a little fiddly to do on the phone. In the meantime just use your imagination to remember what a stock Fusion looks like, LOL.
