  1. The original bolt is metric and threads into the block, the replacement 1/4"x3" bolt goes thru the block and is secured with a self locking nut
  2. Decided to inspect (1 year) 1/4"X3" trough bolt for safety and everything is OK
  3. Excellent solution mate! is the support bracket available ?? or maybe a template to fabricate it ??
  4. I'll welcome myself to the club, a few weeks ago the idler pulley bolt broke car at +100k so no big thing, remove alternator to get to the sticking bolt piece and replace with similar bolt then 3 weeks later again ??? which brought me to this thread. after careful examination looks like the mating surface at the aluminum engine block is worn out so the idler pulley steel spacer sits very unevenly which may lead to vibration & breakage. Decided instead to use a through bolt 1/4"X3" with washers & self locking nut, if it fails I will come back & report.
  5. Main reason I don't take my cars to a shop for an oil change: They overtighten the oil pan plug/filter to strip them and charge you for a repair.
  6. Update on P2004 and P2008 codes: replaced both IMTV and IMRC solenoids and cleared the codes, problem solved, car idles much better now. I recon if you are in high heat area the solenoids are gonna be fried much faster
  7. I just got a P2004 & P2008 on my 2008 Fusion with 90K, checked the two actuator solenoids on top of the Intake Manifold, the right one is for the IMRC and sends vacuum to the actuator below the throttle body. I checked the vacuum hoses and they hold vac.ok, you can test the hose going to the actuator by vac.it yourself and if you can see the lever moving and no leaks it probably is ok next unpluged the pigtail from the right side solenoid and used a voltmeter on the pigtail and the meter reads 12V with the engine at idle, connect it again and checked solenoid operation - but there is no vacuum getting through the solenoid to the actuator below, so it's gotta be bad Ford wants big $$$$ for that part so I looked in fleabay and searched for 9J559 and found it for $7 so I ordered both.
