  1. Hi guys, just got a 2008 Fusion, paint is in pretty good shape and color is Redfire. My plan originally was to wash, clay, then put on Klasse AIO then Klasse SG then top with S100. On vehicles I've used this process on previously, the KSG provides a very reflective surface then the wax topper adds the wetness. But I was pleased to discover that just using AIO + KSG provided a very reflective AND wet look on the Redfire paint. I still plan on topping with S100 soon, but this got me wondering if any other Fusion (or Ford) owners had discovered a particular wax that does a better job of achieving the wet look with Redfire paint?
  2. Pics coming soon, detailing it now. I can say this: If you have a redfire Fusion, Klasse AIO + KSG really makes it pop! Color is amazing and a very wet look that I wasn't expecting. Almost convinced me to not top it with a wax but going to put on some S100 just to see if it can make it look any wetter.
  3. Learn how to properly detail her. If the paint is in even average condition, with a properly detailing (wash, clay, paint cleaner, protectant, carnuba wax), you can make her paint look better than a brand new car. Trust me, nothing stands out more than a car that's obviously not new, that looks BETTER than a new car.
  4. Just bought a 2008 Redfire Fusion SEL and already bought my first 'care package' for her and will be detailing soon. Here's my process: 1 - Wash 2 - Clay. I bought Pinnacle's Clay Bar system 3 - Wash 4 - Apply Klasse AIO. The Klasse twins have been my go-to for years. The claying and AIO completely strips and cleans the clearcoat for application of.... 5 - Klasse Sealant Glaze. Will probably go with 2 layers. You want to wash/clay/AIO first so it completely cleans the paint and makes it easier for the SG to bond to the paint so it can protect it. 6 - For wax, I will be using S100. Goes on like butter and leaves a nice, wet look. Cannot wait to get started. The car's paint is already in pretty good shape so I can't wait to see how good it looks after the above process!
  5. Just got a 2008 Fusion SEL with V6 and I'm so far getting 19 MPG. Not impressed since most of my driving is highway. Perhaps it will improve once the weather cools down and AC doesn't need to be on constantly.
  6. Went with a 2008 Fusion instead and could not be happier with it, thanks everyone for your help!
  7. Hi guys, I'm considering buying a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL with 80,000 miles. Are there any particular mechanical issues that I need to be aware of with this particular model? I am a bit worried because the car has been at the dealer for about 2 months now, and they have dropped the price several times, by $2,000 total. They provided a CarFax and it showed no issues such as accidents, etc. I haven't seen the vehicle in person yet, have only seen pictures online and have emailed back and forth with the sales manager. It has leather and sunroof, I honestly don't know why it hasn't sold and given how low it is priced (Under $10,000) I am afraid something is wrong with it. What should I be looking for? Thank you!
