  1. Supposedly, http://www.buyfordnow.com/ always lists the most current incentives for Ford vehicles. However, getting a salesperson to agree to the incentives as listed is sometimes difficult.
  2. Have to remember, the Escape is the "truck" version of the Focus. My 2015 Focus doesn't display percentage remaining either. Just a "due now." Don't know if we can surmise what changes in the Escape occur in the Fusion. Focus-Escape probably a better relationship.
  3. Awesome. Purchase a new Fusion, get arrested, and vehicle confiscated before you even leave the dealer lot. Do you still have to make the payments in that scenario?
  4. Jack of all; master of none? I guess it depends on the type of driving you're doing. One thing you won't see out of seasonal tires: longevity as compared to all-season tires. But hey, if you're constantly running at triple digit speeds or running at the cusp of traction, must go for the seasonal tires.
  5. Caliper slide pins need lubricated with a high temperature grease.
  6. Are 2017 models (with Sync 3) the first year that provides Apple CarPlay? I imagine trying to integrate a 2017 unit into previous years would be (virtually if not completely) impossible.
  7. 2017 SE Hybrid with Android Auto and my cheap $1 Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. I've been using Google Maps instead of the built in navigation as I like the delays listed by Google Maps. However, with a cheap USB micro cable I was constantly getting Android Auto crashes or (MTP? transmission protocol?) error messages, or the most annoying approve / deny permission dialog for something or the other. Even after repeated approvals, it would rarely run. Sometimes Google Maps would be running just fine, then the display would go blank and offer Nav instead of (Google) maps, then Maps would re-appear. Loop through this a few times and it gets frustrating. And, the cheap cable I had wouldn't charge my phone while running Google Maps, it would simply hold the charge. I replaced my cable with yet another cheap(er?) cable I had in my Focus which would execute Google Maps on the phone and charge the phone rather rapidly. Surprising since the phone's display is in use on my Focus. On Android Auto in the Fusion of course the display is dark. But this cable is a USB A to USB mini 5 pin (like for cameras), then I have a 3 inch USB mini 5 pin to USB micro adapter which I plug into the Galaxy S6. So far, Android Auto / Google Maps has run flawlessly which is quite surprising considering the cable looks even cheaper AND I have to make yet another connection from cable to adapter. It also charges my phone very nicely while executing Google Maps. Buy hey, if it works it works. I assume Android Auto and even Google Maps alone passes much data between phone and Sync 3 so the lesson in all this is cable quality / connectivity is paramount to a good experience. Android Auto doesn't appear to gracefully handle data connectivity issues which I'm going to assume the previous cable wasn't providing adequately.
  8. Who cares if it works? Just the fact you can say "it's LED!" is what matters.
  9. I use one of these along the pinch weld: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-ea-Universal-RED-Floor-Jack-Disk-Pad-Adapter-for-Pinch-Weld-Side-JACKPAD-/231461452946?hash=item35e42d7c92:g:k44AAOSwezVWtxIA with the jack of course. Then use a jack stand under the front cross-member -- not exactly sure where, but I believe near where A arm pivots on frame.
  10. $20k doesn't sound bad as noted: depends on equipment level. But only 3.2k on the odometer is nice too.
  11. I've noticed on my 2017 Hybrid, using Android Auto and displaying Google Maps / Navigation, the phone neither charges nor discharges. Phone display is off in this scenario. On the other hand, my 2015 Focus, with 12V USB charger and running (non-Android Auto) maps on the phone, it charges up just fine while executing Google Navigation. Phone display is on in this scenario.
  12. I believe you're supposed to check the fluid level, on those with fill plugs, with the engine off.
  13. You have a 2017 model Fusion and you're looking to commence cutting into wiring already?
  14. And who is getting sub-11 second standing 1/4 mile passes in a Fusion? Although I believe some of our Energi brethren hit 60 mpg at times.
  15. To get the best of both worlds: 60 mpg AND sub-11 second 1/4 mile times.
  16. Did you have to change the whole housing? Or do the LED "bulbs" work in the standard reflector housing?
  17. I've read a lot of people having problems with these 2 piece wheel nuts on the Fusion and the Focus. Unless they were gorilla-ed on like my 2009 Focus and thus ruined in taking them off with a 3 foot cheater pipe on a 18" Craftsman breaker bar, I just don't see where they "go bad." One thing you MUST do is get the 19 mm socket on them completely. Use a good 6 point 19 mm socket (I have one ironically from a cheap ebay telescoping lug wrench where that 19 mm socket fits with no wiggle room), but make sure it's fully seated. At an angle, and yes, you'll distort the outer stainless steel cover. Put socket on securely and those wheel nuts will last the life of the vehicle.
  18. I believe the premium mats are a touch thicker and heavier. But yes, I too noticed the standard floor mats are really low cost / quality.
  19. Swollen? As in a 19mm six point socket won't fit on them? Did they get super-heated to distort?
  20. I'm listening. I did EXACTLY as you said. I'll take it as my fault for incorrectly conveying that in my previous post. I put in Auto mode (only). NO other options selected. On GUI screen it said Auto and showed temperature. I reduced temperature selection to lowest (can't remember what it is, somewhere in the low 60s). No ice cold air. If that's the way it should work, then I'll take vehicle yet again for warranty repair.
  21. Mine is definitely different. 79 degrees going home last night, put on Auto only, set temperature to 62 or 61 degrees, vent air temperature stayed at outside temperature the whole time. Not comfortable at that temp. I can't wait until it hits the 90s here soon. On mine Auto means vent. Temperature control seems to be worthless. Setting to a temperature does nothing, thus making Auto mode worthless for me. I'd rather have my Focus old style rotary knob with no temperature markings, simply vent at coolest (without AC on), and then adding heat as the temperature knob is turned. So to summarize: Auto mode means vent with heater, but if you want cooling you MUST select the A/C button. No big deal to me. I don't think the technology is there to keep a cabin at a set temperature - probably another 100 years away to be able to do that. I'll adjust manually - air flow, "temperature", AC, recycle, fan speed. I say "temperature" because that too is so far off it's sad. Comparatively speaking, my Focus with manual heating / cooling control is much better than the Fusion's. I'll have to wait until we hit 90s, then take to dealer while 90 ambient temperature, put in Auto mode, set temperature to lowest (60, 61, whatever it is), then demonstrate to dealer that temperature gauge in vent stays at 90. Then also demonstrate that vent temperature drops to about 44-46 when I select A/C button.
  22. Except when I hit fan speed, it disengages auto mode. Not so, at least according to the the Auto LED, when I select A/C. I'll have to schedule yet another visit to service to let them determine what the behavior is supposed to be. I may try tonight to set temperature as low as it goes in Auto mode. I'll see if the air starts coming out cooler.
  23. Ahh, ok. Dsomething Electronic Automatic Temperature Control maybe.
  24. Glove Box Light has been removed from S and SE (Gas and HEV) — Illuminicated Glove Box has been added to V6 Sport and Titanium (Gas and HEV) — Rear Console Vents now tied to DEATC only ● Deleted: — Rear Floor mats have been deleted on SE (Gas and HEV) and Titanium 1. What is DEATC? 2. Rear floor mats will still be available as an option? Just not standard? Edited: Premium Front and Rear Floor Mats with Trunk Mat 12C -- looks like to get rear carpeted mats, one needs to upgrade to premium (carpeted) mats. Or go with: All-Weather Front and Rear Floor Mats 55M - all weather mats.
  25. 2017 SE Hybrid, Automatic climate control (without Sony audio system). From owner's manual: "AUTO: Press to switch on automatic operation. Adjust to select the desired temperature. Fan speed, air distribution, air conditioning operation, and outside or recirculated air are automatically adjusted to heat or cool the vehicle to maintain the desired temperature." On mine, I can select and deselect the A/C and Recirculated Air buttons and the LEDs turn on or off as selected. (Auto mode stays lit). Last night on way home, Auto selected, A/C button deselected, outdoor temp about 79° F, vent temperature thermometer (small scale difficult to read), was displaying about 75°. I selected A/C button (LED displays), temperature started dropping to around 60°. Deselect A/C, vent temperature starts to rise. Select again, starts dropping. Why? Seems to me the system should be saying "I'll handle whether the AC compressor engages or not. I don't care if you want it on or not, I'm in charge when I'm in auto mode. I determine how to keep the temperature at what you set it to. I'll handle everything. The only thing you can change is the desired temperature." So fine, select / deselect A/C at will, let the LED change, but under the covers the system should be saying "Nope, I'll display the LED for you, but that doesn't mean I'm engaging the compressor." Am I missing something here? Is "Auto" mode simply vent with heater if necessary? And if I want "auto cooling" I have to tell it to cool by selecting the A/C button? That's not what the owner's manual says.
