  1. I recently started getting some brake squeal and after inspection my front pads are worn down, and my rears are a bit better but could use replacement. So I've decided I'm going to replace the pads on all 4 wheels on my Fusion. I do live in a cold climate that gets snow and ice in the winter. What do you guys recommend?
  2. Earlier this year I bought Mother's Clay Bar Kit and used it on my Fusion and my fiance's Jeep. I was happy with the results but I used up both clay bars for our vehicles. I've been looking for some replacement clay bars to use but retail stores have nothing but clay bar kits which is not what I am looking for. I've looked online as well and have seen a large variety of clay bars to buy, but I am uncertain as to what would be the best choice. What clay bars would you guys recommend?
  3. Well after driving home from work (40 miles highway) I decided to check my brake rotors for heat buildup by gently touching them. I felt a little bit of heat from my right rear rotor, but I burned my finger when I checked my left rear. My calipers are sticking.
  4. I am writing this to confirm if my suspicions are correct. Vehicle: 2007 Ford Fusion SEL I noticed my symptoms Tuesday morning on my commute to work. When driving down the road I could hear an oscillating noise coming from outside the car, I can't tell if it is front or rear. As I picked up speed the oscillating noise would pick up its pace. I did not feel any vibrations with the car, not in the wheel or pedals. Today I parked my car and put it in neutral, then jacked it up, and spun all 4 wheels by hand. I noticed that with my rear wheels I could hear the brake pads sliding across the brake rotor as the wheel spun. I think my calipers are sticking a bit, but am I correct?
  5. I see you live in Chicago. How would you say the Pirelli's handle snow and icy conditions?
  6. I'm currently shopping for new tires for my 2007 Fusion SEL, tire specs P225/50R17. I've done some online research but I would also like some feedback from fellow Fusion owners. I am looking for new all-season tires for my car, but since I live in Michigan I have to deal with snow and ice on the roads. I'm willing to prioritize good handling in snow and ice conditions over road noise and fuel economy. Based off my online research the following tires pop up as having the most favorable reviews (listed alphabetically): BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport Continental PureContact with Ecoplus Technology Firestone Champion Fuel Fighter Michelin Premier A/S Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus For those of you who have experience with these tires, which would you recommend and why? Or if there is a different tire you would recommend, which one and why? Any feedback would be appreciated.
  7. A month ago I bought myself a used 2007 Ford Fusion SEL with the 2.4L engine, the car had 94,000 miles when I bought it. Anyways, I just want to introduce myself to the community here so if I have questions or concerns I can turn to you guys first. So far I have been loving this car! Disclaimer: I took this photo in November before the snow covered the ground.
