Very nice how-to you put together: short and simple. I'll be using it for my intake when it arrives this weekend.

Fordparts.com does list the piece for the 2.5 and the 3.0, so if you're wanting one you should be able to order one online or through your dealer. (I'm assuming your signature info with the 2.5L is accurate) I just checked the MKZ's parts lists and it was the same results as the Fusion: shields for the 2.5 and 3.0, but nothing regarding the 3.5. It's just puzzling. I sent a message to a dealer parts manager on another forum last night and am still awaiting his response.

Hey everyone, not the most exciting intro post but I'm having a hard time finding this part online. I recently picked up a low-mileage '12 Fusion Sport FWD and just the other day noticed it's missing its splash guard underneath the oil filter, or the "oil filter door" as I've heard some call it. Upon searching for the part on FordParts.com, there's nothing of the sort listed for the 2012 Fusion, so I searched for 2011 and it brought up the "undercar shield", but it lists the part for every engine EXCEPT the 3.5L in my car. What's listed for the 2.5 and 3.0 is Part# 104B40A. But, even though it's the same part number for the 2.5 and 3.0, the prices are different, which leads me to believe they aren't identical parts and therefore if I ordered the one for the 3.0, it wouldn't be the same part I need for my 3.5 Sport. Does anyone know the correct part number for this item, and where it can be purchased? I'm assuming the dealer, but I'd like to try online first, and I assume the dealers use the same or similar parts fiche as FordParts.com. Also, it's missing the three bolts for that shield as well. Am I right to assume that all three bolts are Part# HB2?
