  1. I currently have a 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium 2.0L EcoBoost FWD and I have noticed something strange with the brakes and not even the dealer could give me a real answer. Sometimes, not every time I hit the brakes harder to keep from hitting some stupid driver or critter than runs into the road unknowingly the brake pedal goes all the way to floor. The car stops fine and the pedal returns to its normal position once I let off of it. I cannot seem to find out what the cause is... I have a few ideas, but I am unsure if they are accurate or what possibly could be the real reason. I know with both of my Fusions they were equipped with brake assist (not active brake assist), which is suppose to determine the amount of pressure to use depending on speed, how quickly the brake pedal was pushed and etc. Thinking of that, could the car sense a higher amount of danger and the pedal goes to the floor to protect the drivers foot/ankle/leg? Could there be something wrong with the brakes even though the pedal returns to the normal position after the event occurs? Could the car be equipped with the active brake assist system that is suppose to predict a potential crash and slow the vehicle down, so that when I press the brake the car is determining how quickly to stop in order to avoid the obstacle... I know this one is a long shot, it does not have the red LED bar that flashes across the dash like those with the option do, but could it be something that may have been prebuilt into the on board computers? The only reason I think of that as being a possibility is because of how a lot of the different versions of SYNC use the same system, yet some features are locked or unlocked depending on which sub model one may have...
