  1. Dealerships around here will not perform any Sync updates. Only update they will perform is at time of vehicle purchase.
  2. I have owned 3 different Fusions, 2011 SE, 2013 S and 2016 SE. I have never had any problems with abnormal tire wear. Granted the Goodyear LS2 that have been the OEM tires left a lot to be desired in the handling department on the 2013 and 2016. Both tires wore out with in 25k miles. I have found that maintaining correct tire pressures is nagging issue that I have constantly battled on all my Fusions. I always carried an air pump in my trunk and found myself adding air at least once a month. Now with my 2017 Sport, I can monitor my pressures from the dash display and have had no problems so far. I do agree with my fellow posters, that there are many different variables that can cause the tires to wear out "early". But, if there is no uneven wear, that pretty much throws out alignment/strut issues. Not trying to funny or an a**, but it just sounds like you may be a little tougher on your tires than you think.
  3. Late to the show, but here is link for some alternate tire sizes and if they will fit: https://www.automobile-catalog.com/tire/2012/1420220/ford_fusion_sel_2_5l_automatic.html
  4. Welcome! You will find all kinds of useful info from the folks here.
  5. Welcome Trapper! On my fourth Fusion and I have no complaints.
  6. Had my PTU Fluid changed on my 2017 Sport today (31K Miles) at a local dealership. Provided my own Valvoline 75W140 full synthetic. They had never done a PTU Oil change. I had to tell them where the drain and fill plugs were. There were 4-5 tech standing around under the lift just so they could see where everything was. Drain plug had about 1/4 inch of debris on the magnet of the drain plug. Oil was very black Refill took about 22 ounces.
  7. Installed a MMBCC-CBTWO-BK Mishimoto Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can, 2-Port today, in my 2017 Sport. To aid in lowering the blow-by and vapors, I use only full synthetic oil and top tier gas. My only issue is that when I bought the car (CPO) it already had 30k miles on it and I do not know how well the previous owner took care of the car. Yes, I can see that he did his oil changes on time and maintained the tires. But, I do not know what kind of oil he used or what type of gas. Will check it in a 1000 miles and see what deposits happen.
  8. Thanks, bangster!! Yes, the extra horsepower is a very nice rush. The handling of the all wheel drive is also very nice. Another nice thing, was being able to move the strut tower brace from my 2.0 to the new car. Going around curves is like being on a rail, nice and flat. Was able to move my K&N air filter over, also. Didn't realize the gas tank was a 17 gallon instead of the 13. Nice wake up call at the gas pump. One thing I didn't look at. But, hey! You gotta pay to play! No complaints.
  9. If you have questions on what size tires will fit your Fusion, you can follow the link below. Fist Gen: https://www.automobile-catalog.com/model/ford_usa/fusion_usa_1gen.html Second Gen: https://www.automobile-catalog.com/model/ford_usa/fusion_usa_2gen.html Find your car sub-model and year spec review and "Click" On the page that is now showing, look down and find "Other detailed data for this car:" In this section "Click" on the "Standard and Alternate Wheel and Tire Size" The page will now show you the standard size wheel and tire that comes with the original car, then below that there will be listed multiple options, including warnings for tires that are too wide. Once you see something in a size you might like, then go to https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires. Plug in the size tire that you currently have and then tire you are looking for. This will give some great info and visualization of your selection.
  10. Well Folks, I went and did it. I traded in my 2016 Fusion 2.0 (Bought used, CPO) and got myself 2017 Fusion Sport (CPO). Saw the ad, the price was right, and trade price was what I needed. It was a custom order car. On top of standard equipment the options included: Equipment Group 401A - Sport Upgrade Package - Reverse Sensing System - Heated Front Seats Also included Optional Equipment: - 19" Premium Painted Dark Wheels - Power Moon Roof w/Garage Door Opener - Enhanced Active Park Assist - Cooled Driver/Passenger Seats - Adaptive Cruise Control w/Stop & Go - Rear Inflatable Safety Belts - Sync Connect - Driver Assist Package - Lane Keeping System - BLIS W/Cross Traffic Alert Drove three hours to get from car from Dealership, so had a nice 3 hour ride back to get to know the car. Wow, the difference in Power and Handling is amazing. The all wheel drive transmission shifts are really smooth compared to my 2.0. Driving 65-70 down a two lane highway and needing to pass the car in front. Punch it and you at 100 in a heartbeat. Gonna really have watch myself. One drawback, was previous owner had all window tinted including wind shield. In Louisiana, you can't have tint on the wind shield. So, I will have to have it removed, but I will have a "Bra" installed across the top. I will have pictures to add once it stops raining.
  11. Here is some info for the 2010 Sport. https://www.automobile-catalog.com/tire/2010/894845/ford_fusion_sport_3_5l_v-6_automatic.html
  12. Here is the site I use to determine correct tire sizes. https://www.automobile-catalog.com/tire/2016/1596770/ford_fusion_2_0l_ecoboost.html This goes direct to the 2016 Fusion. You can plug in your car model.
  13. Okay, not trying to sound harsh here, but you say a brand new Fusion, so I am assuming you knew this before you took possession? Not sure, what the issue is? Whether or not you have fog lamps is determined by the "packages" your car is built with. Look at your Window Sticker and it should tell you what extras/packages you car is built with. I looked at the Ford site and I do not see any packages for a 2019 SEL that includes Fog Lights.
  14. My current version is 3.7. There is a SYNC2 - MY TOUCH update version 3.10 according to the MySync Hot Line. BUTTTT, they tell you to download the update from the OWNER.FORD.COM. When you mention that the web site does not offer the ability to download, you get the "Oh yeah! The website is being upgraded. You will have to go to the dealership". I call two of the three dealerships around here, (One is the one I normally deal with) and they tell you they don't do SYNC Updates. I need to download from the web site. The third one want to know why I want to update. If it is working fine, don't mess with it. But, they will do if I want to.
  15. Colin, Here is another link that may help you out on choosing tires. https://www.automobile-catalog.com/tire/2011/1420220/ford_fusion_sel_2_5l_automatic.html
  16. Hey Guys, Has anyone upgraded their intercooler on their 2.0? If so, which one did you use and have you noticed any difference in performance? I know this project is done when someone is going to go to the next step of getting a "tune", but I am taking baby steps. Just wanted a little input before taking the plunge.
  17. While I was having the Shift Linkage replaced (Recall). I asked my local dealership to replace the cabin air filter (I'm at 26k miles). I was told that they do not recommend changing the air filter in the 2016 Fusion. I asked when should I have it changed. I was told by the Service Writer, "Never". Whattttt???? Granted, I am not having in AC problems, no bad smells, etc. I just thought that since I was in, I would get it done. But, to hear that they do not recommend changing it ever, doesn't make any since. Thoughts?
  18. I'm a little late to the party, but I just want to state the vibrations on 2016 Fusion SE with 2.0 EB is not normal. Even with the stock Goodyear tires, there was no vibrations. Handling sucked, but no vibrations. I am on my 3rd Fusion (2011, 2014 & 2016). Never had vibration problems. When I bought the 2016, it had 12K miles on it. OEM Goodyears had even wear on the treads and I kept them until I hit 20K. Running Michelin tires. Went from a 235 to a 245. Have no complaints.
  19. UPDATE: The Wrench Light has been coming on sporadically since my initial post. Still no evident change in performance. So I took it in today to have it checked out at the dealership. The following was determined: "23365 TEST EEC AND IGNITION SYSTEM CODES P018C AND P018B PINPOINT TEST DD1-DD17. INSTALL A NEW FUEL LINE PRESSURE SENSOR" The sensor was replaced at no charge under my Bumper to Bumper Warranty. Also, had the steering wheel washer and bolt replaced due to recall notice FSA 18S08-B.
