  1. Thanks for the information. That's roughly what I guessed since it is a matter to taking out the wheel and two bolts. I guess I will do future repair in another dealer......
  2. The dealer told me that they will charge $150 for diagnostic. If it is indeed sway bar link, they need two hours of labor plus parts to fix it. He cannot say exact cost but that is a rough estimates. I asked him if he is sure he needs two hours to do it. The service advisor said they need to take off the wheel and the whole suspension to replace it. I am speechless......
  3. The unfortunate thing is that the car is just out of warranty for a few months. And I am not completely sure it is the sway bar link. Since the parts is cheap, doing it myself is a just a low risk trial. Doing it at the dealer is probably not expensive either. Half an hour labor plus parts will probably get it done. Good luck on your coming suspension work!
  4. Thanks for the videos. Yes, I have watched a few of these about replacing sway bar link. I am just not sure whether I need to lift both sides. Yes, I will not corner hard. I will be slow.......
  5. If I want to replace the sway bar link myself, should I do it when the car is lifted or on the ground? Should both side be lifted or can I do it with only one side lifted? I consulted the service manual but that just specify the torque on the nuts and tells me to use the "hex holding feature" when loosening and tightening the nuts.
  6. I have experienced a squeaky noise coming from the lower passenger door. I have tried to press down on bunch of parts to see where the noise comes from. It seems pressing down on the shiny plastic panel that holds the window buttons helped. Nothing seems to loose. In general, I feel the car interior just rattles a lot, even compared to the old Pontiac Grand Prix I have. I don't know if it is a general problem with Ford Fusion or I just have a bad one.
  7. I heard the noise last night when I parked my car at a friend's house. It was slightly nose down too. This time, the car is warm. So the noise can occur when the car is warm. I showed the mechanic the video when I took the car in for door latch recall. He speculated it to be some pump noise. But he said since it does not replicate, it is hard to know. I have no idea what it is and it is hard to replicate. I will just keep updating this thread whenever I hear it in case it is helpful for other people.
  8. Thanks for the insights. The mechanic told me about the chassis ears after showing me the slight play. But he said that since the sway bar link is so cheap (OEM one is just like 13 dollars from the local dealer), he would change the sway bar link before diagnostics. Diagnostic is going to cost more than the sway bar link. But he suggests me just wait until it gets worse. If it is indeed the sway bar link, it will become loose eventually and it will be obvious what the source of noise is. I can change the link and get the problem solved then. if it is not that, they can diagnose later.
  9. 2014 Ford Fusion SE with about 21500 miles. Just out of bumper to bumper warranty for a few months. I heard a weak clunk sound when driving on rough road. It does not occur when I go over speed bumps. The noise seems to come from front passenger side. I can reproduce it by driving on a rough road. I asked the dealer about it when taking the car in for the door latch recall. They checked the suspension on the lift and told me that everything is tight. The mechanic said it could just be the tension in the suspension and tell me not to worry about it. I also consulted a local shop. The mechanic put the car on a alignment lift (so the suspension is under load compared to being lifted) and showed me that the front passenger side sway bar link has a very very slight play. I can feel the slight play when I try to violently shake it. The driver side one is firm and I cannot feel any play. Shaking the sway bar link does not produce any noise. Shaking the car around does not make any noise either. All the rubber bushing looks fine. No apparent damage or leak from the strut either. My question is: should sway bar link has any play in it? Could that be the cause of clunk noise I heard? What else should I check? I posted in another forum but haven't got any suggestions. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
  10. I took the car to the dealer this morning for the door latch recall repair. I asked the mechanic about the noise. He says it is indeed the brake. His wife has the same car and does the same thing. It is completely normal.
  11. Frank, have you got your headliner fixed? How does it go? It has been about three weeks after mine has been fixed. It seems to the fix still holds but not as neat as it is right after the repair. The headliner dropped a little more but the weatherstripping still cover the edge of headliner (although just cover the edge of the headliner). It seems the headliner drops a little bit when parking the car in the sun and come up at night. I guess it is just expansion and shrinking of materials due to temperature change. Also, the A-trim piece is more flexible when hot so maybe it does not provide as strong a support. I will keep an eye on it and see how it hold up.
  12. After some search, I think W716510-S300 is what I am looking for. It is the same retainer used in fender liner.
  13. Here is a better view. I am looking for the green circle in the second picture. http://www.happywrenching.com/ford/fusion/ford-fusion-front-bumper-cover-removal-guide-second-gen-2013.html
  14. Thanks! It seems number 7 is not what I am looking for. Number 11 is held in place with three pins. One closest to the center is a screwed in bolt and the other two are plastic push in pins. These two plastic pins are what I am looking for. It seems the diagram did not show the pins.
  15. It is for a 2014 Ford Fusion SE with 2.5L engine. I have a few of the plastic pin/fastener missing from the bottom of the front bumper (probably because I scratch the bottom of the bumper when I drive out of a steep driveway). I would like to replace them. What are the part number of these? I tried to look on Fordparts.com but I am not sure whether I am looking at the correct part number. I took a screen shot of a video tutorial on front bumper removal. The picture shows what I am talking about. The video is here: At 2:49 you can see where these plastic pins are. Thanks!
