  1. I have a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium… completely stock. I purchased some new aftermarket fog light units… https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RV471Q9/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_HC12XWVZ4Q8VF5HDTZQM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I’m relatively familiar with cars but I’m not an expert (especially with wiring) and I always want to be 100% certain. There are two wires coming out of the units, one BLACK and the other RED. I found a wiring diagram online and I want to know what wires match up with the ones on the diagram. As far as the fog light units… is RED power? And BLACK ground?
  2. Did you ever make a decision? I’m curious about the aftermarket Spyder headlights as well!
  3. It only happens when it's hot outside (76+ degrees) and it doesn't really start until about 2-5 minutes after you first start driving. It does not make this noise in the winter because its so cold. I can feel it slightly in the steering when I turn the wheel. It's very obnoxious and loud. You can hear it when using the brakes at low speeds too, so in town. IMG_1337.MOV
  4. For about a month now, I've been dealing with my driver door not locking via the keyless entry remote on my 2006 Fusion. I've been unlocking it manually with the key. It'll make the sound, it just doesn't unlock or lock. I've been trying to find a forum to fix this issue but I've had no luck. Will replacing the whole handle do the trick or is it something else?
  5. I’m just now realizing I measure all wrong. There is nothing when I used me 6-24 V tool. I’m still very new when it comes to this stuff. It’s kind of a learning process for me.
  6. Update: I know this is almost a couple weeks late but I finally found time to check everything. First, I checked to make all wires were in the right slots in the harnesses and that the colors and location matched up to the wiring diagram. This includes the power wire coming from the fuse box, the head unit output, the amplifier input, the amplifier output, and the subwoofer inputs. Everything checked out exactly as the diagram showed. Next, I checked to make sure there was power coming from the fuse box, which there was, like I did in the past. Then, I checked PIN 1, or Enable/clip, and there was a strong signal coming from the head unit to the input of the amplifier. Yet still no sound. I have two amplifiers because I thought one was broken at one time... anyways, I put the harnesses into that one and still no sound. So there is definitely power going to the amplifier and the amplifier is getting signal from the head unit... not sure what's going on.
  7. Yeah, I have everything hooked up exactly as the diagram shows. I will have to check the voltage of Pin 1.
  8. When my dad and I were first installing everything we started running into trouble... nothing was working. So my dad unplugged my tail light and somehow connected the output wires from the head unit to the subs and use the tail light as a source of power to see if we were even getting a signal from the head unit. I'm not sure how he did it because I was in the front seat stepping on the brakes to active the power to the tail lights. Anyways, he did say there was audio coming from the subs, very faint but something. So that makes me think the problem is the wiring to the amplifier.
  9. We were measuring the output from the head unit. The only thing we measured from the amplifier was the power to make sure it was getting power.
  10. Yes, the rest of the stereo system is working just fine. The navigation unit is from a 2008 Fusion and the amplifier is from a 2009 Fusion, both being SEL's. We do have a multimeter, that's how we knew the amp was getting power. We tested, using the multimeter, the output on the head unit and the needle barely moved up but it did slightly with audio playing. That's about all the troubleshooting we've done. The Sony subs are 4 ohms and they do work because we tested them.
  11. Okay, I need help once again! I keep putting off fixing my subwoofers because I just give up, they're just sitting there in the car deck doing nothing. I have a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. I've ran all the proper wires from the radio and the power wire from the fuse box (which does have power, we checked) according to the wiring diagram. I did get a Ford navigation head unit last year that supports an amplifier. For my amplifier, I'm using a stock one from a 2009 Fusion (Audiophile). For subwoofers, I'm using Sony ones from a 2011 Fusion. And nothing is working for some reason, no sound at all! Do I need to get a Sony amplifier from a Fusion? I inserted the wiring diagram, if needed. I appreciate any help given!
  12. Thanks so much, that really helped me a lot. I still haven't gotten it changed because this weekend has been crazy. I will give you an update when I do it this week. I live right down the road from my local Ford dealer, so I'll be giving him a call, that way I'd be able to do it tomorrow. Does the Fusion have a transmission filter for the six-speed? I didn't see anything in the owners manual.
  13. I am very glad you mentioned that because I checked the transmission fluid this morning, while the engine was heated up and running of course. The fluid was a darker brown and a little gritty. So I'm going to get that changed. I went to O'Reily's to see if they had any after work and they looked up on their computers and it suggested Mercon in their system, but in the owners manual is specifically says not to use Mercon... so I went to AutoZone and they didn't have anything and told me to just go to a Ford dealership and get it from them.
  14. I took your advice and allowed the PCM to relearn, which I believe helped a little but definitely didn't solve the issue. After doing some more driving, coming home from work today, when flooring the car, the car would make it to 6,000 RPM's but when I released the accelerator, it instantly went down to 3,000 RPM's, it didn't slowly make its way down to 3,000, it was just instant. When the car shifts when accelerating, you can definitely feel the shifts more because it shifts so fast, as seen in my previous videos above. I did recently start hearing some squealing, like a belt, coming for the engine when warming up my car a couple days ago. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
  15. Here is a picture of it at idle.
  16. 2006 Ford Fusion SEL V6 - 128,000 miles I got off work today and when heading home I had to pass someone, so when doing that I noticed when decelerating my RPM's would jump down really fast, IMG_5704.TRIM.MOV . So I pulled over and restarted my engine which I wasn't sure if that would help. And when accelerating I noticed when the vehicle shifted, it would shift fast and I could feel the shifts a little more than usual, IMG_5705.TRIM 2.MOV . I also notice when going around 40 mph the RPM's would be right under 1,000 RPM's so when I'd try to accelerate the vehicle would jump a little. ALSO, when I was stopped at a stoplight, I noticed the RPM's were around 600, which I think is much lower than usual. The car just doesn't feel like its usual self. Should I take it into the Ford dealer to maybe reset the computer for the transmission?
  17. When reviewing Ford's website awhile back, I realized they updated the Edge and are now calling the Sport model, the Edge ST. What's the difference between a Sport and a ST? I know ST stands for Sport Technology. I thought maybe the Sport packages on Ford's were just a bigger engine and visually sportier inside and out and the ST were the same but had sportier tuned suspension and better brakes but the Explorer Sport has a different tuned suspension. I'm talking about across the board of Ford vehicles, not just the Edge.
  18. I have a 2006 Fusion SEL and lately I've been having trouble using the remote start. Usually, when it does work, I hold down the button and the horn chirps twice and then starts right up. Now that it's winter, it just chirps once and doesn't do anything at all. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the car battery because the car battery is 6-7 years old.
  19. Thank you so much for your help. I'll update you when something changes!
  20. I'm not sure how to check to see if there is any signal coming out of the radio to the amp. I'm 100% sure were getting power to the amp, we tested the wire to see if it was hot and it was. The navigation unit, I'm guessing, came out of a car with subwoofers. I'm not 100% sure though but it does have the 8-pin plug in the back for the amp. Most, if not all, Fusion's or Milan's that have a navigation system are pretty loaded. Also, which wire on the wiring diagram would be the wiring clip?
  21. Also, we made sure to keep the power wire and the wires going from the navigation/radio unit separated, so there would be no interference.
  22. Last summer, I decided I wanted to put (kind of) stock trunk deck subwoofers in my 2006 Fusion SEL. I found a wiring diagram explaining where everything went and we (my dad and I) followed that wiring diagram. Instead of using stock subwoofers for the Fusion generation (2006-2009), I found two subwoofers, Sony, from a 2011 Fusion, same size as the stock ones, 6x9. I couldn't find any stock subwoofers (Audiophile) anywhere. But we used the stock amplifier from the 2006-2009 generation. Before all this, I bought a 2008 Mercury Milan Navigation unit, so it had the 8-pin connection for the amplifier on the back ready to go unlike the unit I had before. I went to a local junkyard and got the connections for the Navigation unit and connections for the actual amp. I bought, one of two, amplifiers on eBay. We followed the diagram exactly, connected the power wire to the fuse box and nothing. We're certain the subs work because we tested them beforehand. After that, I just quit because I thought it was the amplifier, so last week, I bought another one and the same thing, nothing worked. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be that we mixed subwoofers from a 2011 Fusion with an amp from a 2009 Fusion? Also, does anyone know what "Enable CUP" means on the diagram, the VIO/RED one going to the amp? I inserted the wiring diagram.
  23. I currently have the “premium” cloth seats in my 2006 Ford Fusion. I was wondering if I could put used leather seats from another Fusion or Milan (2006-2009) into my Fusion SEL without problems. The only problem I could think of is the connections with the heated seats, I wouldn’t be able to use them but I didn’t know if the connection for the heated seats on the leather seats would cause an issue with installation.
