  1. I took the car to a Ford dealer and had it diagnosed like I thought they said the epas system failed need a new rack and pinion labor and parts about $1700 dollars. Ford had a recall on this part failure for years 11 and 12 but none for 10. I am in the process of trying to get the 2010 year recalled am in communication with Ford and the NHTSA on getting this issue what I consider to be unsafe and fixed. I feel if they had the problem in years 11 and 12 they surely had same problem in 10 also and should be included in the recall. I urge any one else who had or has this same problem to contact Ford and the NHTSA I think its ridicules that a Ford dealer said it would cost $4420 to make this vehicle safe to drive which has 125,000 miles on the odometer. If Ford will not cover all or some of the repair cost it will be the last Ford I or my daughter ever buy.
  2. Merry Christmas to everyone looking for some answers if anyone can help. My daughter's 2010 Fusion manf. date 6/10 (4) cyl. standard trans. lost its power steering I have read that this is a pretty common problem with these power steering by wire which seems to be a pile of junk factory defect that cannot take the heat it is subjected to. They say there was a recall for the 11 models but not the 10 models which has me peeved off to say the least . From what I have read so far seems solution is to replace whole rack n pinion $2,000 job at least by dealer could buy rack from rock auto fro about $260 then install DIY . Are there any other simple things to check before going this expensive route not sure I will repair if it does cost this much as might just junk and part the car out out and would be the last Ford I or any member of my family would own. The vehicle has 127,000 miles I think to early in its life for something so major to fail. The simple things I think about are could it be just a simple fuse or relay some shop said it needs tie rods but I do not think that should have a bearing on the power steering.
  3. Hello was wondering how to install the a.c. drier on a 2010 Fusion 4cyl. std. trans. I think the location is on drivers side of condensor? Do you have to pull the condensor to replace it if so how much work is involved? Thanks in advance for any replies.
  4. Yes I know which sensor is bad and FYI: Its potato for you patato for me lol.
  5. Hello I just bought this car for my daughter and the radio did not turn on and the battery was dead. I should not bought the car from a dealer in this condition but you know the stealers they just want to make a quick profit and the problem is yours. Anyway after putting a new battery in car to take care of that problem the radio would not come on so after some research and with the owners manual I was able to locate the fuse that operates the radio it is under dash on far left side in slot 39 a (20) amp. yellow coded fuse it was burned out. I imagine somewhere along the way as this car was being jumped because of a bad battery it blew the fuse put new fuse in and wala I have radio now on to figure out how to get rid of low tire pressure fault when all tires have enough air.
  6. Hello again I am becoming more acquainted with the tpms system in cars after 2008 I have come to the conclusion this is just a big $$$ maker for car makers and parts people and mechanics. It is a bunch of b.s. I have driven cars for 45 yrs. and have learned how to spot a low air tire with a quick glance. I have learned that you need special scanners and tools to fix these problems so I went out and bought an Autel TS401 scanner for a cost of approx. $140. I probably have a bad 3 volt battery in one or more of the sensors. Would be nice if I could just pop the sensor open and replace battery but I will not be able to do that I do not think as they are sealed and not made to be taken apart. So will probably have to find lowest cost sensor available which I heard tire discounters might have some for as little as $12/piece I will have to check into this further and let everyone know final outcome.
  7. Hello everyone I just purchased a 2010 fusion and there is a constant light on dash. I have checked all the tires put them about 34 psi. and light is still on. How can I reset the system? I have read that with a strong magnet going around to each wheel that will reset the system after turning the key off and on numerous times to get it in that mode whole process should take less then 5 min. I got mine in the mode went to front drivers wheel it took about 80 sec. and the horn beeped twice where I think it should have chirped ounce well when I went to each wheel after there was nothing so question is is maybe one of the sensors on rim bad if so how do I determine which one and why did the horn beep twice at 1st wheel when I think it should have chirped ounce according to you tube video. I had a strong magnet pencil type but not the round type shown in video so how do I get this light off what am I doing wrong?
