  1. I am sorry been working 16 hrs a day and was tired. I bought the factory wiring book for my vin and traced it out to : 1 a bad ground by pcm 2 neutral safety switch faulty 3 I replaced the starter relay in the sjb It starts now but when I checked those things before they tested good. The more I look at electrical on this car I think this car has been under water just to many tattletale signs There is a lot that is oxidized and corroded for the electrical
  2. I don't get it, some say yes the shifter has to be in park to lock the steering column. And some say no they don't lock the column ? I'm having issues with something not allowing the pcm to send a - signal to the starter relay to start. ?
  3. Ok I'm going to try and explain what I found and add pictures as I go. I see that the shifter housing is damaged so I will get another one tomorrow. On the right side of the shifter I see a micro switch that tells the computer it's in park and in the front a solenoid to lock it in park, pictures 1 & 2. Now on to the column, I took off the ignition tumble and switch assembly, on the assembly in the center at top where the lock pin would be there is a fixed pice of plastic that does not move. On the assembly that I bought it has a pin it's from a 09 fusion however looking up at the column in the slot where the pin would lock into and turn the steering wheel completely there is no slot to lock into the shift ? The assembly with the black plastic is from my car. I looked up and down the column for a solenoid or cable to lock it and don't see how it lock the way it was. All I see on the column for switches are the ignition switch and the pats sensor to work with my fob. Maybe there is something missing I know someone tried to steal it, I was told that is where all the damage came from ? Why would it have a switch to tell it that it is in park and not lock the steering wheel ?
  4. Ok the chine does with the key on and open the door. And with the key on and in gear yes you can remove the key with it in gear without putting into park. Also no backup lights, ? I understand with the key on and press the brake pedal and the solenoid on the shifter will release and allow the shifter to move. But what keeps the key from being removed when the shifter is left in gear ? I assume that the key should not be removable in gear ? Is there a solenoid on the key assembly because I don't remember seeing one ? I really need to buy factory shop manuals.
  5. So if I'm not getting a ground from the pcm what does that mean a bad pcm ?
  6. Ok I have traced it to the starter relay under the hood and no ground to the relay ? Where does the ground come from ? I imagine it is locked out for some reason, the security system is off all lights off in the car does start and run if you jump the starter I can use the remote on the doors. Does anyone have a full electrical schematic for a 2009 Ford fusion with a 2.3 L automatic or at least the full starter circuit ? I also don't have backup light, electromanic mirrors or power to the Neutral safety switch and if I supply power to the fuse for backup lights they come on when ever power is applied. I would greatly appreciate it thank you
  7. Ok I have no schematics or locations for connectors and fuses or relays, with that said where is connector C139 and the starter relay ? Isn't the smart junction box above your feet to the left ? That's where I hear the clicking when I try to start it not at the fuse box under the hood and that fuse box is missing the cover, I figured the layout would be printed on that cover ? I traced the starter solenoid wire to the connector by the fuse box I think it is brown with green strip, that's far as I got before going to work.
  8. Does anyone have the pinout or a schematic of the SJB (Smart Junction Box)?
  9. Akriby, In the tank ? What the heck can I get to it under the rear seat ? Then how often are you saposta change it ?
  10. Yes I hear the starter relay click but no starter, now if I run a hot wire to the starter solenoid it turns the engine over. So I'm going to check the neutral safety switch and trace the solenoid wire back
  11. Ok, No more security light flashing it all back together with its original key fobs and it does run but not very good I will look into that in a bit, however it won't crank with the key, I had to jump the starter solenoid to get it to start. I can hear the starter relay click. So any suggestions ? Any schematics ?
