  1. Thanks... bought a shop manual and video from Ford...
  2. No marks on cam sprockets... cams are slotted at back of cams... oh how I hate auto correct! Lol!
  3. That's the sticking point here. Cams are not marked. The marks I'm talking about were put on cams themselves during assembly... there are no make on cam sprockets. They are spotted cams in this motor. So, with that said,a shop manual is needed. You are correct!
  4. At this point... I have anther motor to practice on...
  5. On my way to buy one now... my thought process is correct though?
  6. That is correct. So with that thought in mind. Let's go back to basics... finding TDC on crank is a no brainer but the cams are a different story. That's where I am hung up. I want to try what you are saying but not sure where to start with cams... Suggestios? I'm just not sure where to start. I see orange dots on cams that I'm assuming are alignment marks... also assuming I must rotate each cam until all valves closed and valves on #1 clylinder face each other... that's when I replace with new chain
  7. Who out there is a true Ford mechanic with knowledge of a 2.5 Ford Fusion motor gas
  8. Ok... after numerous attempts to get or find compression in previous motor. It's done... I have another motor that I physically saw running... it came out of a 2012 Ford Escape with 93k on it. I have a timing chain kits for it... replace chains or just install? It will be going into this Fusion
  9. Took timing cover off... turned engine over by hand... everything turning... tensioner tight.
  10. Yes... I have gone back to basic mechanics... took valve cover off. Can see everything moving. See crank dampner turning too... running out of options at this point. Motor now out of car for 2nd time...
  11. O compression across the board. Wet or dry. Bad motor
  12. Yes... can see dampne turning... time to chase down new compression tester
  13. Yes... all 4 cylinders show 0 compression, wet or dry Original motor, timing chain broke w/149 k on motor motor self destructed No CELs /other vehicles Suggestions?
  14. Doing engine swap on my 2011 Fusion 2.5L gas motor... purchased motor from a running car. Fluids drained, motor sat for a week... once installed, engine cranks but no start. Further testing revealed no compression in any cylinder. Wet or dry. This motor ran when removed from previous car. Idea's... Suggestions? All help appreciated
