  1. The connector on resistor looks perfectly fine (actually still looks brand new). I ended up replacing the blower motor only and its working perfectly now.
  2. I have a 2011 Fusion Hybrid with dual climate. My blower motor was shutting off randomly for a while and then just stopped working all together. I pulled it out, looked at it and put it back in. After reinstalling, it started working again without issues for a few weeks and then died again. I've seen people saying it's best to replace the blower motor AND the resistor at the same time. My only thing is I'm thinking my resistor is just fine. When it was blowing, it worked on all fan speeds. When it stopped blowing it didn't work on any fan speed. Also, looking under there I can see that the resistor has more than likely already been replaced at some point. The wires have splice connectors and the plug doesn't have any corrosion or burn marks whatsoever and looks just fine. Do you think I'm ok to replace JUST the blower motor? The resistor is another $155 and I'd rather not spend that money if it isn't necessary.
  3. I own a 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Today I was driving and AC was working just fine. I stopped at a gas station and shut the car off for about 30 seconds while getting something out of my trunk. When I got back in and started the car, it was no longer blowing any air whatsoever and it's 90 degrees outside. I have the Sony touch screen and no matter what I changed climate settings to it wouldn't turn on. I also tried turning AC off then back on and nothing (the display says it's on but nothing is blowing). So I just proceeded to drive with windows down and about 5 minutes later it just randomly kicked back on and is working just fine now. What could be the cause of this? It's not making any weird noises so I don't think it's the blower motor going out.
  4. Has anyone installed led high beam bulbs in a 2010-2012 Fusion? I'm wondering if there is enough room inside the dust cap for the cooling fan as well as the driver? Is there any problem running without the cap?
  5. Thank You! You are correct. I was looking at the maintenance schedule on the Ford website and when I clicked 120k miles (current mileage at which dealer is recommending fluid change) it wasn't showing up but when I click on 150k miles, it does. I'm just wondering why the dealership is recommending it now? I guess it wouldn't hurt anything to get it done a little early
  6. I have a 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid that I took to the ford dealership to get an oil change. They told me that at my current mileage (120k) that they recommend I get the transmission serviced and they quoted me $199.95. I told them I thought it was a sealed, non-serviceable transmission. They said while it's true that they can't do a traditional pan drop & filter change, they can still remove old fluid and replace with new. I looked up Fords maintenance schedule for my car and nothing about transmission service is listed on there. Is it recommended to do fluid changes on these CVT transmissions or are they just trying to get me to pay for unnecessary work?
  7. I plan on replacing a door latch on a 2011 Fusion SE. I know I will need to drill out some rivets on the inner door panel in order to access the latch. Doing a google search, I found an old post and a reply by a guy that replaced has window regulator. He gives the part number for the rivets from NAPA (Balkamp #665-2438). He also says that regular hand rivet guns will not work for these bigger rivets but said he got the right tool for under $20 at Harbor Freight (although he did not specify what type). Has anyone here drilled out and replaced the inner door rivets? What type of rivet tool is required for these larger body rivets?
  8. Hello, I have a 2011 Fusion Hybrid. Recently my front passenger window stopped working. When I go to roll the window down, you can hear the widow jolt for a split second but nothing happens. Tried from passenger side switch as well but it does the same thing. Anybody else had this experience?
  9. Maybe I'll go for a hybrid If the CVT has had good reliability. I looked and found a couple in my price range. One is from a dealership. It has 78k miles, heated leather, dual climate, backup camera, navigation. They are asking $8,995 the only problem is I'm not in love with the light blue color. The other one is from private party. It has 93k miles with all the same options plus blind spot monitoring and rain sensing wipers. It is black which I prefer, but it does have 93k miles and hes asking $9400 (to even consider that one I'd have to negotiate the price under $9,000) I'm torn because I'd prefer the black to light blue but the black has 15k more miles
  10. I'm selling my '04 GMC Sierra because I'm newly married and need a fuel efficient car to save money (my truck currently averages 14mpg). I've been doing research and looking at consumer reviews. Among a few others, the 2010-12 Ford Fusion seems to stands out. I'm just curious which engine and transmission has the best proven reliability? What drivetrain would/did you choose and why? In my price range I'm finding Fusions with 60k-90k miles so I need to know which drivetrain would be best to get me to 200k+ without any major headaches. I like the idea of 40 mpg in the hybrid but the CVT transmissions really make me nervous. Reliability is my top priority but fuel economy is a close second Which is the most reliable engine out of 2.5, 3.0, 3.5? Do these all have same trans? If not, what is the best trans? Anything else I need to know while shopping around test driving these cars?
