Thanks for the input. I believe you're correct that the funnel behind my battery access door is for fuel. I did review the owners guide concerning the battery question I had, but didn't think about looking for a fuel funnel. I would still prefer to be able to check the water level in each cell of the battery as my past experience with maintenance free batteries is that they do use water. Most of my batteries have had a 10 to 12 yr life, but I'm quite sure they wouldn't without having added water periodically. I'm not planning to have this car that long, so maybe the battery will last for as long as I need it to. Thanks again guys.

Is it necessary to remove the 12 volt battery from the rear compartment to check and add water to it? I'm assuming it needs to be checked periodically as there is a water funnel attached to the inside of the compartment cover. I don't understand why the battery wouldn't have been installed so that the cover over the openings to the cells would have been in the front so the battery wouldn't have to be disconnected and removed to just check the water level in each cell. Am I missing something here or is this a 'Ford Better Idea'? This is in a 2017 Fusion Hybrid. Ron.

Has anyone had any experience with 'Run Flat' tires? Bridgestone makes them, I'm not sure of others. I have a hybrid which comes with only an inflator, no spare tire. I wasn't aware of the no spare tire until well along with the purchase of the car, otherwise I probably wouldn't have competed the purchase. I don't like being without a spare. Ron.
