  1. There was a problem with the 2009 HVAC systems regarding this very issue that you are describing. I myself personally went through it the first winter I had my 2009. Basically, it took almost 8-months after I purchased my car in November of 2008 before the "fix" was determined. The actual head unit for the HVAC system had to be replaced as there was a "flaw" in the orignal design. Many, many, many 2009 owners reported this problem. If your vehicle is still under warranty, have your dealership order you the new part. Question: are you the first owner of this 2009 Fusion? How long have you had the car? Let us know how you make out.
  2. My 2009 Fusion SEL AWD has the medium light stone leather interior....my buddy drives the same car but with the black interior....he is "very" sorry that he didn't order the light stone. The black shows "every" bit of dirt, smudges etc. IMO, "medium light stone" is the way to go!
  3. Try a mixture of Vinegar and Water in a spray bottle.......use newspaper to spread it around....then follow up with a either paper towels or a soft lint free cotton cloth and wipe it dry. Works everytime!
  4. I'm not sure what you mean by "middle-age"? I'm 48 and I use all aspects of SYNC. My parents are in their 70's. My Mom drives a Lincoln MKX with SYNC and my father drives a Ford F150-Platinum truck with SYNC. Now, trust me my parents are as "technophobic" as anyone BUT, they love SYNC...they use it for the voice activated Navigation, cell phone calls, and yes they both got ipods for Christmas last year and they love that they can access the music via SYNC. I understand that it's personal preference whether to embrace new technology or not, but look at it this way. If you don't use SYNC and all it's wonderful features, then it will most definitely be an added selling feature when you sell/trade the car in and the lucky person you gets your car will thank you for it! IMO.
  5. My sister in law has a 2010 Ford Escape Limited with the same type of stereo...as far as I know the only way to add music to the built-in hard drive is by using c.d.'s. It actually doesn't take that long to transfer an entire disc. If you want to use the usb, my suggestion would be to get an ipod and run it through the sync system "user device" USB setting. Let us know how you make out!
  6. I'm from Ontario, Canada and for the life of me, I don't understand why DRL's (daytime running lights) are not mandatory in the United States. Since 1989 when automatic DRL's were made mandatory here in Canada, the # of collisions, accidents etc. have decreased dramatically. We get a lot of American visitors coming through my area here in Northern Ontario, Canada and it always amazes me when I see their vehicles with no DRL's.
  7. What year is your Fusion? What is the outside temperature reading when you notice the condensation? Is the a/c on? Do you have the "re-circulate" button pressed? On my 2009 Fusion SEL AWD with the automatic climate control, in the summer I "ALWAYS" keep the re-circulate button on, which is the MAX a/c setting. This will reduce the moisture, especially when it is humid out, as it is using the already cooled air in side the vehicle and not taking the moisture heavy air from the outside. The MAX a/c setting is also the most fuel efficient setting when having the a/c in the on position.
  8. Thank you so much for the information! Cheers from Canada!
  9. Hey everyone....a while back, someone posted a "link" so that you could go and get a PDF of the WINDOW STICKER for your car from Ford. Now, that link is no longer operational? Does anyone know if there is a new link or why the existing one doesn't work anymore?
  10. I think you made a good decision......IMO.
  11. When I ordered my 2009 Fusion SEL AWD I ordered the factory remote start...it was a $300.00 CDN option. It's always cheaper to buy the factory option (if available) and then you are assured that it will work with your car. I've heard horror stories about after market/non Ford remote starts. If you can get the Ford brand autostart for under $1,000.00 installed by a Ford dealer, then grab it, IMO.
  12. Congrats on the "new wheels" it looks great!
  13. 2006 Ford Five Hundred Limited AWD. Things I miss.....the size of the trunk...it was huge. I actually loved the Five Hundred....but hated the Taurus makeover. Now, the new Taurus I love. All and all, I love my fusion. Mine's a 2009 so pretty much all of the growing pains/bugs were ironed out. As for my next vehicle, we'll have to wait and see. It will be a Ford/Lincoln model, just not sure which one...AWD is a must because of where I live.
