  1. Same problem on my 2006. Replaced two handles so far and one just snapped last week. They just snap in your hand when opening the door. Shortly after buying car new, the chromed plastic coating started to bubble on all four handles but I didn't do anything about it. After the warranty expired, the handles started to break. The driver side snapped right off in my hand and the two rear handles have snapped allowing the tension spring to pop through which has disabled the handle. Acts like I have the child lock engaged. The front passenger handle chrome is bubbled but hasn't snapped yet, probably due to that door not getting much use. All this cheap construction to squeeze a little more gas mileage out of the car at the expense of our safety. I have one broken rear passenger one right now.....I have to get out of the car to let the person out. Never has this happened on any other car no matter how cheap the interior components. There should be a recall.......in a dire emergency, a person sitting at a door with a broken handle would be trapped.
  2. Gas Cap is good. Think if gas cap is left off, the GAS CAP dash light warning light would light which monitors total loss of gas tank pressure. P0451 monitors Tank Pressure but only after a gas tank has been pressurized. Problem could be a faulty switch or bad canister....goes back to my original question...where is the pressure switch so I can check the hoses? On my 2006, both the canister and switch are not under the hood in a obvious location. They must be disguised under a cosmetic, dirt or ground deflector cover by the wheel wells or radiator; or they are located under the car by the gas tank.
  3. Just received engine warning light. Code Reader indicates 2 codes present. Reader indicated P0451 - Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Performance and second code to be 'Pending.' I understand that 0451 is measuring Fuel Tank Pressure. Where is the switch and what is the part number?
  4. Performed TSB 07-1-10...Vibration is gone! Didn't tape as they show in Fig 1 & 2 because the clips holding the metal tubes not as easy to access as shown. What I used was several tie wraps tightening all the lines and also tie-wrapped the steel deflector that shielded the lower portion of the tubes from the back of the engine. Odd thing is that the lines are predominantly on the passenger-side firewall but the sound was dead center coming from the speedometer/tachometer instrument cluster. I was skeptical but the TSB procedure worked. C
  5. We are speaking about the same cluster....? I want to remove the entire guage cluster (speed/tach) to see if vibration is coming from that area. I have had the clock / radio / pop-up bin all removed so I could change the Clock bulb that burned out with a LED. Removing that stuff again exposes the screws I need to remove in order to pull the cluster??? I thought it would have come out towards the steering wheel. There are screws undernearth the rubber shield below the clear plastic gauge shield but removing them did nothing to lossen the gauge cluster. C
  6. Same problem...2006 Fusion purchased Sept 2005. Very minor annoyance when first purchased but lived with it....loud music works wonders. Noise progressively getting worse. Sounds exactly dead center in instrument panel like the plastic cover is resonating. No matter what I touch to locate, can't stop it. Noise most noticeable when gradually accelerating and passing up & down through 1500 rpms. I want to rip the cluster out but can't figure out how to pull it. Then I saw the posted TSB for exact issue that points to the problem being outside the firewall underneath the leaf screen / windshield washer arms. I will attempt to do that first. Still would like to know how to pull the cluster. Thanks C
