  1. Dealer called this morning. Cylinder 2's spark plug will not come out. They found the proof they needed. Interesting thing is the dealer is required to take pictures of the car and engine compartment and include them with the request for engine replacement. I'm assuming to verify that there were no after market mods done? Anyway all the docs are submitted and we are just waiting for Ford to approve or deny the repairs. Service manager said he didn't think there will be any issues. Fingers are crossed!
  2. They are hoping to have a answer for me by end of today! They were working on getting definitive proof of where my coolant is disappearing too. I will update as soon as I receive word from them. ?
  3. The reason I clearing code was I had a service appointment coming at end of week. I was having all the symptoms of the water intrusion and wasn't aware that the codes were permanently removed and I always use my code reader if light comes on to make sure it wasn't a different code. I know now not to clear them. Hopefully Ford will still allow the extended work. My understanding this includes a new short block. If not be a terrible way to learn a lesson!
  4. Hey everyone! I'm hoping someone can answer this for me. I drive a 2017 Ford fusion se 1.5 ecoboost. My car is evolved in the satisfaction program for the water intrusion into cylinders. So I've been having misfire codes for about a week. I have a code reader after checking I would delete the code. My car went to dealer today when I talked to service guy he asked if I had deleted misfire codes. He then told me I shouldn't have because I'm over 60000 miles and they have to get approval to do the extended work. My question is does my Fusion have a memory bank that stores the history of codes that have been issued? My car has been running like crap I'm loosing coolant internally but he makes it sound because the codes were erased I may get denied the work my car needs so I'm just trying to get on top of this so I have some information to work with. Thanks Heath
  5. There will be no desolving of discussions here. I'm here to learn also. Unfortunately I was mistaken on how these chips worked. I honestly believed that they had a basic program that changed certain things much like a tuner but just unable to change them as a human tuner would be able to do. You are right I honestly never meant for anyone to just take my word. I seem to always ask questions on here and just wanted to offer some info that I thought might be helpful. I do appreciate the info that you have given me and I hope at anytime you didn't feel like I was trying to be obnoxious I honestly felt what I had learned from a few people I know was to correct and I'm glad that I did comment cause the only way to learn is to make mistakes. Thank you
  6. If that is the case then why are we able to go to a experienced tuner that can do the same thing. They are able to access the cars computer and fine tune it to produce more HP fuel economy reduce throttle lag. They fine tune these parameters to you. The OBD tuners all have the parameters set so they may or may not be what you want so when the offer to try it and return it for full refund with in thirty days what's the harm? Your basically saying it doesn't work I have nothing to gain from this post and I can say it does work.
  7. I honestly wanted to dyno tune my car until the $$ came into play. Unfortunately I am a single dad so money is usually a bit tight. I'm not real savvy when it comes to computers and how they change all the parameters. I do know they explained to me that this OBD tuner does communicate with the ecm and over a period of miles does change certain parameters with in to achieve more power better throttle response and so on. I'm not here to try and convince anyone that this chip is some miracle worker. I simply wanted to let everyone know I was having good results with this chip. I fully stated that it won't give your car neck snapping power but if you want a little more for a better driving experience it might be a option.
  8. I can't really say about long term issues I've had mine installed for 30 days and no problems yet. I think for the money it was worth the driving enjoyment to me. As far as installing it was extremely simple! After I installed I had questions about the shift points so I got online and clicked on the chat button and in a matter of seconds I was talking to a rep who answered my question. If it helps they have a 30 day money back garauntee if you are not happy with the chip return it and get your money back. Hope that helps!
  9. I just wanted to throw some info out here. I recently decided to take a chance and order a OBD performance chip. Only reason i did was 100 percent refund if not satisfied. The claim was 60HP 40Torq and 5MPG increase. Im averaging 3MPG increase i dont have a way to tell exact hp and torque without paying a tuner to put it on a Dino but ive been driving my car for 18 months so i know how it performs. It has made my car a lot more fun to drive. Its not going to rip your head off when you mash the throttle but it for sure made a diffrence! throttle response is also better. Anyway i got it from chip your car and have had it for a month with no issues.
  10. Thanks!!! If it were me I would use some black electrical tape and use it to wrap around the face of bars on your grill and step back and see if you like it. If you do then take the next step and paint or you can also use vinyl wrap it peels off if you don't like it.
  11. The only reason i noticed is my wheels came with black hub caps and i finally decided to paint the polished alum wheel and that was the very first thing i did was paint all 4 of the center caps. If it wasnt for that i probably wouldnt have noticed.
  12. They both look great! Did you paint the grill or is it a aftermarket? I noticed your wheels still have the blue Ford center cap. If you dont like the blue they do have aftermarket caps or the paint and peel spray paint from walmart works great and it peels off if you decide you dont like it. What motor does your Fusion have? Any mods?
  13. OK got it figured out. Found a video of a 2016 focus replacing that molding and realized it has the same hardware to mount that the fusion does. I know plastic clips do not rust and saves money for manufacturing but it would be nice to get out a ratchet like the old days! Have a great Sunday everyone!
  14. Maybe I don't word things correctly in the search cause I can't find any posts about removing rocker panel molding on my 17 fusion. I live on a gravel road that is usually a fine dust and I want to remove molding and clean it out so I don't develop a rust issue. I'm not sure on the procedure and don't want to damage the plastic clips. Any advice on how the lower clips work. I even looked at YouTube couldn't find anything on the fusion. Thanks in advance for your help
  15. I agree with Sirtanon the wheels made a huge difference. From family car to sport sedan! The color is great if I wasn't such a big fan of the blacked-out look this color would be my choice. Very nice ride!
  16. I agree and concidering you don't like the black out look that makes me appreciate the good job you gave me even more! Thanks for commenting!
  17. I really liked the black out look on the Fusion. When i bought the car i wasnt aware that the wheels are aluminum with a black molded cap on them. took almost a week before i found this out and thats only because the caps do not fit snug and rattle when on a bumpy road. Not sure who put them on cause it was a rental but only to a finiance company that used it for out of town buisness trips. Anyone thinking of getting a set for a different look beware they do tear up the clear coat on the wheels. I tried several different ways to stop the rattle and just decided to paint the wheels myself. I will post a pic of car when wheels are back on. The grill was done before the wheels. I like the chrome to break up the black a bit but the whole grill was to much for my taste. I taped it off and used the paint and peel from walmart and sprayed 2 light coats of finish to make more durable. I live on 3 miles of gravel road and the grill looks as good as the day i painted it and it has been through the auto and hand carwash probably 15 times. Window tint is coming soon i also concidered putting vinyl on my Fusion. I think i would like to do the rally stripes i found a carbon fiber orange thought that might look good with the orange brake calipers. Would like to hear some thoughts or ideas on the vinyl if anyone would like to share!
  18. Ya I agree I couldn't find a parts house that actually listed a crankcase pressure sensor anywhere! I pulled a number of the sensor that is on the tube for the turbo and that is where the MAP sensor is located. The crankcase pressure sensor on the escape looks like the one on the fusion that is listed as the PVC hose same kind of connections on both ends. I will let ya know if I have anymore issues or find anymore info on this crankcase pressure sensor.
  19. Thought i would update. Since i secured the air filter box check engine light is out and on my 639 mile trip i ave 31 mpg at a ave speed of 85 so i believe forgetting to lock down air filter box was the cause of MIL.
  20. Update CEL just turned off! Something I forgot to mention last night while I was taking pictures I noticed that I had forgot to snap the air filter box lid down after I did oil and filter change. It wasn't wide open but probably enough to change the amount of air flow. I wonder if that could have caused the CEL to turn on?
  21. It's the 1.5 ecoboost and that part I'm holding is the intake pressure sensor the map sensor is held on with a small bolt
  22. Hello everyone. I recently had a cel with a p051b code. That code is for crankcase pressure sensor. I have checked with every parts house local and online and cant find a listing for the crankcase sensor. Should this sensor be listed as the PCV hose sensor? Im not having any problems at the moment so i was going to replace the sensor on the hopes it is defective. Im leaving on a 600 mile round trip tomorrow evening and would like to replace sensor and reset cel. I have pics of location and close up of sensor im hoping i can get verification i have the correct sensor. Im going to try and get time durring work to call dealer tomorrow but not sure i will get a chance. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Heath
