  1. well, it was indeed the interior door handle/lock. The plastic silvery gear was broken. The hardest part was getting that stupid bolt cover off the handle. it just didn't want to pop off. All works now - I bought the cheapie replacement from Amazon - $15.00 - guess will see just how cheap it was. Now onto the rear passenger door - that handle is a little floppy - still works - but for under $20.00 - I'll replace it now.
  2. Sounds like the handle/lock assembly - cheap enough. Wasn't sure since the handle opens the door fine, and the locks flips when you push the button. Wasn't sure how the door actually locked - is it just that piece in the assembly that keeps the door from opening? or is there another piece to the puzzle that keeps the door from opening? (or in my case, prevents the door from locking - even though everything looks like it works and sounds like it works. Thanks
  3. Bought a used 2011 Fusion. If we hit the lock button, the front passenger door switch (shows as locked or unlocked) flips to the locked position, you hear something going on in the door. but the door doesn't actually lock - the alarm will go off if opened and the door ajar sensor is functioning when opened. The handle itself is a little inward - but there are no issues opening the door from either the inside or the outside. Any particulars I should look for after I pull the door apart?
