  1. I am sorry to say that I would have no idea as to what is causing your repeated electrical issues! However as to the dealership questions.....by all means yes..go to another dealer. Get hold of FORD and get in touch with a district manager to speed inquiries or investigations up. I had an issue with my Fusion and ultimately I sourced the problem and with help from the Forum resolved it at NO COST versus what the dealer was telling me to do! Not automotive related, but I had purchased a big ticket item from a "box" store....Had trouble with the same from the onset, did everything by the book as per warranty and certified repair facilities all to no avail. After only 3 days of using social media to MESSAGE, the manufacturer, and the retailer, the retailer decided to replace my purchase with a brand new out of the box unit, now over a year old and past warranty, at no further cost to me. My saving grace was that I had ALL documentation including my attempts to do everything required by warranty.......repair bills, email coms, "case #'s" over a 12 month period, etc etc. Good luck and keep us posted !
  2. As a "test", I had disconnected the trunk latch wires at the trunk......then tied a cord to the emergency release handle and threaded it up to the back seat area. A pain for sure, but it worked till I figured out the fuse issue for my specific car. The dealer tried to sell me fobs and computer stuff, however I had read right here that none of that had worked for anyone. One other possibility is that the truck must be closed "properly" for the sensor in the latch to work correctly..IE..make sure it is properly lined up when you close the trunk...Good Luck !
  3. Ford Fusion trunk opening......mine is a 2013..after many trips to the dealer....and messing with the fobs...I noticed a pattern of when the trunk would open on its own. Daytime in hot weather facing the sun! Sure enough by parking the car so as to block the sun..no more random openings. It was the numerical # pad on the drivers door....I removed the fuse that went to that function (ONLY) and the trunk has behaved ever since...a couple of years now.
  4. I pulled the fuse under the dash #10 for the remote keypad as eGuru suggested and have had no issues since then of the trunk opening on its own.

re: trunk opening on Fusion......I see where another individual has found the same results as I did concerning the sun and the remote keypad.

Your observations probably led them to see the connection. Good work.

Let's see if they come back to the forum and tell us whether the black tape was totally effective.

  6. since last Wednesday.....we had inclement weather for a couple of days with no trunk opening.....then the sun came out and it opened like "clockwork"....it has now been 2 SUNNY and very warm days without the fuse in place and thus far it has NOT opened. I will keep you appraised / updated in about a weeks time !
  7. I will get this pulled and keep you informed...many thanks !
  8. from the factory...........I don't use it, but it is there on the key fob etc. the manual says I have it !
  9. eGuru..still concerning the trunk opening issue......a long study of this aggravation has shown that I can almost set a clock to when it will open....always between 3-4:30 PM and only when the late afternoon sun is beating down on the keypad numbers on the drivers door frame. When I park in the opposite direction...the trunk is not opening. Could there be a correlation between heat, sun light, or whatever on that keypad? Can you disconnect the keypad inside the frame or where ever? A long shot I know, but after messing with it for over a year, the only constants are the time of day, and the position of the late afternoon sun in the carport. ( NOT a closed garage) any thoughts????? Thanks !
  10. anything but random trunk openings would be GREAT ! Thank you !!
  11. eGuru RE fusion trunk opening ........thank you..2 questions though..what does SJB mean, and I would be more than happy just to have a key to open the trunk, however ......all I have is a key fob electronic: no access for a "normal" key.
  12. 2013 Fusion.....I STILL have the trunk opening at any time...been to dealer...changed fobs.....read and seen multiple complaints from people, but NO FIXES ! Someone must have an answer...apparently FORD does not.
