  1. At what point in 2009 did Ford change the transmissions in the Ford Fusion and is there a way for me to find out? Thanks
  2. bangster, you mean the Input Turbine speed sensor and that turbine is the one in the TC itself? Is the sensor in the TC as well?
  3. Thank you, I'm bringing it to at least one other mechanic then. The first one was straight 'lets get you a new transmission!'
  4. what I got was p2757; Torque Converter; Clutch Pressure; Control solenoid; Control circuit; Performance / stuck Then; P0735, 0729; Gear 5, 6 - Incorrect ratio P0717 Input/ tutrbine speed sensor, A circuit- no signal P0734 Gear 4 - Incorrect ratio In Drive it goes into 1st and second, then the tach shoots to 6k, 7k rpm and will not respond to the pedal, even as the rpm's drop it doesn't go back into 2nd or 1st, if I start in Low, it goes into 1st and hits the 5k, 6k rpm mark, if I take my foot off the gas, it sets into 2nd (it seems, I'm more a 'replacer' than a mechanic)
  5. I did add transmission fluid but the problem continued. I will do that today with the codes. Thanks.
  6. sorry, doing too many things at once, the mechanic did read 2 codes, without giving me numbers he showed me one; the car thought it was stolen and had shut down the engine, I didn't notice the code #, after he took it for a drive, he said the other code said it was the transmission
  7. I was told it was the transmission, I must have misread what was going on. When the wrench light would come on (the second day I had it...), the tach would go to 5k, 6k and the speedometer would start dropping in MPH. It did almost stall out cornering, but I was told if the tach is going, the engine is going and it can't be the ETB. Thanks for the replies
  8. it has 171,500 on it. The wrench light came on and it runs and stops when it wants. I bought it under bad circumstances, my leaf spring literally broke off (the bracket actually) and was being 'held on' by the bed of my truck, so I was desperate and the dealer knew it. I was broke after trying to fix the truck and he told me the brakes were sticking a bit and thats what it seemed at first, he let me drive it home with no down payment and I was feeling lucky because the truck was in that bad of condition. I got bamboozled to use a nice word and don't want to deal with a crook. I do assume that he knew and thus the brake story.
  9. I have the 'wrench warning light' and have experienced some non-acceleration, then a burst, almost-stalling on corners... I want to replace the electronic throttle body and want to save money, just got this car to replace what became a money pit truck so pretty tapped. Thanks.
