  1. I finally found a resolution to this problem. Given the fact that as some uses said, moving the seat would be a temporary fix and the fact that my wife getting out of the car and back in would also work, I decided to just replace the seat. It had to be a wiring issue somewhere in the seat. I found one on eBay for $250. Drove 60 miles to avoid shipping charges. Changing out is simple. Two large wiring harnesses and 4 bolts. Took less than 30 minutes. Viola, all issues are gone! Spoke too soon. Problem came back. I'm now working my way through network diagrams to find a possible location for communications breakdown.
  2. I've been having the same issue for over a year. Climate control system shuts down. I get an alarm stating "Temporarily lost communication with the Climate System." "Blindspot System Fault" and "Cross Traffic System Fault," I'm guessing these both utilize the Side Object Detection Modules. Door position preset buttons don't work (but manual seat adjustments do). Front panel controls (radio and Climate control) don't work and panel LED's do not light up. Radio can still be controlled by steering wheel controls. Power door locks on all four doors don't work. Power windows on all four doors don't work. On rearview mirrors, only the down button works (left, right and up do not). My wife's fix has been to stop the car, get out and get back in. This usually works and faults clear. This is why I'm guessing there is something happening with the wiring under the seat that may be causing the communication error to come and go. I did check the Side Object Detection modules be pulling the wiring harness and cleaning pins with alcohol. The modules themselves were pretty clean. Per another recent post, I pulled the wiring harnesses under the seat and reconnected them. No luck there either. Moving the seat does not make it come back. It's all very sporadic.
  3. Still dealing with this issue. Here are the symptoms again: Climate control system shuts down. I get an alarm stating "Temporarily lost communication with the Climate System." 4. Bluecatfish, this is identical to the issue I am having with my wife's 2013 fusion titanium. What really grabbed my attention is how it all seems to tie back to the driver seat. This happens intermittently and will go away for several weeks before reoccurring. We took it to the dealer but of course we could not reproduce the problem and they upgraded the software. My wife found the temporary fix was to pull over, get out and then back in to the car. Everything magically came back to life! This probably had a 95% success rate for her!. Just like you, it really became a safety issue when my wife was returning home on a cold rainy day. Since the HVAC was inoperable, there was no defrost. She had to keep wiping the windshield with a cloth the entire way home. I thought about pulling the driver's seat this weekend anyway so I will pull all the connectors and see how it goes. Thanks so much for sharing. Its been incredibly frustrating. As soon as I saw your post I felt this amazing relief that we are not alone in this and maybe have a solution. Even if it does not work, thanks so much for sharing!
  5. Sorry I have not followed up on this post. Since my last post the problem has just gone away! I'm not sure how long that will be the case but for now everything is working perfectly.
  6. eGuru, thanks for the response. All I know at this point is when everything is working, both sides work and when nothing is, neither side will work. I will check the connections and wires at the SOD modules this weekend. They look easy enough to get to. I assume it could be as simple as a nick in the insulation of the wiring. Ironically, everything has been working fine for the past 2 days. I'm sure it will come back. It always does.
  7. I replace the battery about one year ago. It's funny trying to relate the blind spot system to the front controls (radio and hvac) but they always occur together.
  8. I have not been able to find this problem anywhere. My 2013 Fusion Titanium will intermittently show faults for blind spot and cross traffic systems. As soon as this happens, the HVAC turns off and cannot be controlled with the panel below the touch screen (where all the HVAC functions are located). The touch screen shows the HVAC is off and is greyed out. The radio also stays in the same state as it was when the faults occur but cannot be controlled by the touch panel. Volume can be changed by the steering wheel controls but not the volume nob on the panel. This is a big problem with the cold weather coming. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
