Thanks much. I guess I am "old school" but I guess I will go ahead and get oil changed. I have always felt that a couple of oil changes in a year was probably a good idea. I was out of town when the warning message came on and had never seen it before so I wasn't sure if something was wrong. Thanks again for your response.

My 2014 Fusion SE has an oil reminder feature to let you see oil life left and reminder when oil change is due. I only drive vehicle on trips so it could only be driven 1500 miles in 3 or 4 months. Today when I turned the car on the warning light message said oil change is required but I have less than 2000 miles on the oil but it probably has not been changed in 6 months. I have the oil change interval set for 5000 miles so it should not "remind" me that oil change is required? Can it remind you if oil has not been changed in a number of months??
