  1. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium with 153K miles. I started to hear a clunking noise from the front of the car when applying tension to the drive shaft. I noticed it more while sitting in traffic and driving at slow speeds. When I let off the gas or tap the gas pedal, I hear a clunking noise like metal to metal. I thought it might be loose drive shaft. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was the transmission. To fix it they would have to take the transmission apart and find out exactly what was wrong. They recommended a complete transmission replacement at the cost of $7,500. Needless to say, I am not going to spend that kind of money to fix a car with 153K miles. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone resolve it? I am worried it is going to totally break and leave me stranded but I can't afford $7,500 for a new transmission. Thoughts? Thank you. Kevin
