UPDATE- removed the valve covers and cleaned all of the sludge from both cams( was not as bad as I thought out would.)
Replaced the screen at oil pan and then installed a new cam follower. Car ran great for about 1000 miles and popped the p0087 code again. Took HPFP off and cam follower has gone bad again.
How is this tappet/follower being lubricated? Could it be that camshaft lobe is causing the damage? The lobe is rounder than the rest of the lobes for the valves.
Any suggestions?
Thinking about taking it to the shop to replace the camshaft. Any ideas on pays and labor cost?
2014 ecoboost with 1.5 engine.
