  1. Well folks here I go again. Started car and turned on ac to have white particles blowing out the vents and covering me in white powder like material. Took vehicle to dealer and was told the flux on the evaporator is most likely flaking off again and they will need to pull the dash again to inspect the evaporator and box. Advised dealer I am declining repair. Took vehicle to sales department and traded in the vehicle. It can now be the dealers problem as there is no way this vehicle will be sold if a customer is smart enough to turn on the ax or heat. 2019 fusion owners be prepared to have a full dash removal should you notice this on your car. I want to thank you all for all of your help over the last couple years as I will no longer need this awesome forum. Take care all
  2. My 2-20 maps came in with a sync update that I downloaded with a usb. There is now also a sync update build 21194 that is supposed to address issues with android auto.
  3. Thank you so much bbf. Before all this started I had sync 3.4 with 2.20 maps. Fords website should have never allowed me to redownload a update if it was 2.20. This is going to cause major headaches and lost time for people who don’t understand this. This is the number 1 reason these forums are so important. I appreciate your knowledge on this and saved me from making more phone calls to clueless agents. Take care
  4. Hello again, just got a call from ford tech support and was advised that they forgot to add 1 of the files and sent me a new update order. I downloaded it and I am now in the process of installing it in my fusion. So far all is good. Ford advised it could take and hour to a hour in a half to install. Once I receive a successful update I will advise on what the version number indicates. Thanks all
  5. You should have received an email in case you need to re download it. Let me warn you all. I spend 3 hours with technical support and followed instructions EXACTLY as indicated. When I go to download I get the error of LST_ERR05 which shows that the license file that you also download has to be placed in the sync my ride folder on the usb. Did this exactly as instructed and still get the error. The tech support agent feels there may be a bug in the software as they were getting calls about this error. They have escalated my case to determine the cause. They confirmed all the files downloaded on my computer including the license file. I asked the tech if they knew the exact version of the nav maps and nobody at ford has a clue what this version is. I suspect the issue is the version is 2.20 that was delivered in a recent sync update and that this is why it won’t download but the tech could not confirm this. I then went to my local ford dealer and asked if I could look at a 2021 escape and explorer with nav and they both show version 2-20. If anyone has any luck with this issue please advise. Thanks so much
  6. Hi all, does anyone know when the next navigation update is going to be released? Currently on sync 3.4 with the latest maps 1.19
  7. Just got my fusion back. No more particles blowing out . Dealer did an awesome job. Not a scratch.
  8. Nothing at all. I do go thru a car wash frequently but that's about it. They gave me a 2019 Ford Ecoboost titanium as a loaner. I hear anymore I'll keep you all informed.
  9. Hey pony, here's the evaporator. When the tech opened the box there were a large amount of what looked like white calcium particles. As you can see this is also on the evaporator.... your thoughts greatly appreciated.
  10. It is flux from the evaporator fins flaking off. Box is filled with it.
  11. Probably would be a lot more than 1k. Don't know what warranty pays but tech said it took a full day to remove.
  12. Well folks got the bad news from ford. It is the evaporator and the entire dash has to be pulled. Evaporator has been on national back order for 6 months and the only way they can get 1 is if they order a whole box which we're waiting for ford to approve. If any of you experience this issue get your fusion into ford quick.
  13. Took car to ford and they were able to see the problem. It appears to be getting worse and they said they have not seen this on any fusions. They will be pulling the dash Monday morning to investigate. They gave me three possible scenarios. 1. Rodent damage 2. insulation came loose and going into blower motor. 3. issue with evaporator. I highly doubt its rodent related as there is no smell, it's intermittent and I store my 2019 mustang gt in the garage and it's rarely driven and has zero issues like this. I will report back once the car is fixed and what it was.
  14. Well hoping your right but there also are issues with the evaporators flux flaking off and blowing into the vents. In fact ford has a TSB for it from earlier model edge's. Hopefully that's not the case cause it takes some serious vacuuming with compressed air and your right a service tech is going to probably care less about doing a decent job. Warranty labor on that TSB shows 1.4 hours. Appointment for Monday morning so we shall see what's found.
  15. Thanks for your input. After filter replacement it still does this but it's intermittent. The particles look like small salt crystals and when you touch them it seems to turn into a powder type material. I'm hoping someone will chime in that has had this happen in the 2019 fusion and was able to get it resolved. Any certified Ford techs out here?? Thanks again
