  1. So I replaced the ABS pump and bled the brakes through this weekend. I had to disconnect the heater hoses for room to move around and lost very little coolant, which was nice. I removed the 6 brake lines from the pump (13mm) and that surely made a mess but I had rags in place to absorb most of it. I then I removed the plastic underbelly (6 10mm screws that were well rusted) under the engine to get at the 17mm bolt on the pump side mount. Then back up top I loosened the 2 15mm mounts to free the pump assembly. The assembly pulled out easily. I used the donor pump from a 2012 Lincoln with the existing Fusion module (to avoid pushing As Built data) and reinstalled in inverse order. It was fairly straight forward. The biggest pain in the arse was removing the lug nuts from the wheels! These apparently are quite soft and had been rolled over on a number of them. Had to hammer the socket in place to remove and replace the wheel (will have to buy replacements). Also, different size bleeders on the front and rear brakes. Needed a 13mm on the rear and I believe an 11mm on the front. Everything bled out nicely. Reset the DTC and bled the ABS pump using FORscan. Everything went pretty well but noticed the car is eating the rear brakes quickly.
  2. I had the battery tested at 2 separate Autozones. Both tested above 400 CCA for a 390 battery. The charging system is functioning properly and the connectors at the battery are tight with no corrosion. Modern cars can kiss my fat arse!!!
  3. Oh, the ABS codes cleared out yesterday by themselves. I wonder if the LVB is getting a better recharge as it's been in my hands for the past week. ( I've been driving it around rural roads and for longer periods than what my daughter has been for the past year since she moved to the city). The battery is at least 3 years old so I will replace it. I have a used ABS assembly out of donor 2012 Lincoln on the way as well. I'll replace the brake fluid and inspect the brakes and.....oh hell, I'll just accept fate and realize I'll probably have to replace pads and rotors. lol Cha-ching!! I'll let you know what I find out over the next few weeks.
  4. Hi eGuru, That's interesting. I will check it out. I'm curious why that may be the problem.
  5. Hi Allen, Thanks for the great write-up. Restored the EV function on my daughter's 2011 FFH. Now on to the ABS problem!! Cheers, Eric
  6. Hi folks, My daughter's 2011 FFH has thrown these ABS codes all at once: C1018 U0100 C0020 C0001 U3000 C0022 Any thoughts on where to start? ABS module fail or Brake Booster solenoid? I'm just starting to research this to see if it's something I can attempt to replace myself. Thanks, Eric
