  1. How does a person delete their account on this God forsaken forum?
  2. Just when i thought i was out, they pulled me back in..quote from the God Father. I fell for all the hype and even to my surprise i purchased a car made in Mexico, guilty as charged. Cracked studs, Cracked gas tanks, bad purge valve, bad airbags, overly designed expensive to replace wheel lugs, parking brake that freezes in winter if you use it, sensors that give you false alarms, and the list goes on. My choice was not uninformed but very informed. The sources of the information were, in hind site, may have been folks who hold Ford stocks or have something to gain by giving a favorable review. I think you call that a biased opinion. Ford cannot compete anymore and it is starting to show up in raised prices for their cars and services. Example,... i was never charged a diagnostic fee with my previous ford ,but now $125 to $150 just to tell me whats wrong. Ford is finished being a leader, no more original ideas from their engineers. They seem to copy from everyone else. This is why Ford is always 2 years behind on everything , from 8 speed transmissions, hydraulic or electric parking brake and the stupid dial trans shifter, which not everyone is doing yet thank God. It is bad and will get worse for Ford.
  3. @ sirtanon: While you were driving "Turds" i was driving Japanese and enjoying the trouble free miles. Fords have improved, but are still notorious for turning into pumpkins at any given time. Also a diagnostic fee at the dealers are $125 to $150 per repair, which is a stand alone fee, plus +++ the actual cost of the repair. We need to look at the overall track record of the Brand we are spending our money on. If your Ford is mostly highway miles, you may do better than the usual Ford owner who drives mostly city and a little highway. All in all Toyota is tops. Currently i am driving a Fusion between 2008 and 2012 year model. I am seeing things even now around 89,000 miles which is telling me it is time to bail out. Cars made in Mexico and Malaysia cannot be trusted.
  4. That has been my experience with Fords. Sorry if you disagree.
  5. After about 90,000 miles or so, all Fords turn into money pits.
  6. special feature on most fusions. when your about to have a flat tire the trunk opens anticipating your need to access the spare tire.
  7. I can't believe - - - - - . - - - - - - - - - - - Good grief!! Hi Confused. Your post has been edited. No need to spam or be insulting to others or their classified ads.
  8. Why bother buying a car with A TURBO CHARGER ? Seems to me it is a peripheral add on to make you think your engine is more powerful than it really is. Also another thing that can break or malfunction. My fusion has a 2.5 4cyl. engine and seems powerful enough and gets 40.5 highway and 26 city miles per gallon.
  9. An auto parts store may offer a free diagnostic check to see if there is "really" no code. I had this done and a code was found, even tho there was no check engine light, on my dashboard. The code pertained to my throttle. Lucky for me it just needed a cleaning and my problems were solved.
  10. Perhaps the throttle needs to be cleaned? or even replaced? It is located right after the air-intake. Recently i had a "Valvoline" system cleaner done. The technician sprayed a solution into the air intake, which cleaned the throttle hinge, and the rest goes into the gas tank. My car stopped die ing out and after re-learning its idle, runs very smooth. To replace the throttle could be upwards to $500 dollars at a car dealer. I am sure the car dealer does not want to take the loss. Also i burn the premium gas now and in my mind it seems to help. At 84000 miles i had a new set of spark plugs put in for good measure. My fusion runs well now. You may need to find a good private mechanic. Dealership mechanics, even tho they know your car, they may be waiting for your warranty to expire, so their boss at the dealership can charge you for the repair.... Hope this info helps.
  11. To much glare from sunlight prevents reading of dash board controls. The control that directs the air is not calibrated right. When i choose the floor vents, the air comes out on the floor but also the dashboard vents. What i don,t like about future ford vehicles is the new Dial Shift for the trans. Women may like it, i don,t know, but it just seems awkward and very breakable.
  12. i will keep that in mind for the future. my car has no turbo features. as i drive to and from work this week i will see how my idle reacts to the fresh tank of gas,"with no additives". the car really needed the new spark plugs. all four plugs were worn evenly, and formed a perfect point at the top of the electrode. maybe a .10/.13 millimeter flat at the crest.
  13. Will be filling up on Sunday, but the idle is doing ok now. i may do a re-learn again but only if a rough idle comes back. I have a Valvoline system cleaner done about 2 weeks ago. A concentrated spray is introduced directly into the air intake. I was told it would clean the throttle somewhat and other things. The rest of the liquid additive went into the gas tank. Between that and the bottle of STP "treats 26 gallons" that i put in a few days earlier i thought may be to much. My gas tank holds 17.5 gallons of gas. Cleaning the throttle i thought would be a good idea at 85,000, along with new spark plugs. thanks for the help.
  14. https://repairpal.com/swollen-lug-nuts-509 This is interesting about Fusion lug nuts
  15. I saw the lugs and they were rusted and swelled up. Not all , but a good portion to war rent buying all new ones. Special tapered lugs that hold on the wheel and wheel cover. The wrong socket? You would have to be a really stupid mechanic to do that. Sounds hard to do to.
  16. I see. Strange problem. I just assumed the autotrans, as it downshifts automatically, screwed up. My mistake. I drove manual trans most my life and never encountered a problem. Unfortunately my left foot is a bit sensitive these days ,so will need an autotrans soon.
  17. I have a 2010 fusion with 6 speed manual trans. I hate hearing and seeing problems with auto trans and this picture. Incredible picture. Must have been a shock when it happened. Hope you solve your problem soon. I am glad i purchased the manual trans. Seems Ford has unique problems especially with the transmissions. I consider myself fortunate, but not sure if i would pursue another Ford. I wonder who makes their transmissions? The 2020 Escape is suppose to have an 8 speed trans now, but Ford seems to always be 2-3 years behind Toyota. Also the new model redesign i would avoid, for at least 2 years. The Dial instead of a traditional gear shifter just seems awkward. Ford engineers are running out of ideas.
  18. To add insult to injury, the lugs are bought and paid for but the "ninny" at the dealership, even with the correct vin#, sent the wrong lugs. There are only two styles and this guy could not get it right the first time. Discontinuing all cars is a sure sign of owner disaffection. Making cars in Mexico and Melanesia, "M&M", does not help with their popularity either. Sales are relative to geographical regions, perhaps your region, does better than average. Overall when Ford and other car makers start dumping their cars they are admitting they cannot compete with Japan.
  19. Nobody wants to buy a Ford unless Ford does 0 percent financing or some ridiculous incentive that no other car maker would do. A time bomb exploded in my Fusion yesterday. I have wheel covers and not mag wheels. The wheel covers are held on by a special lug nut that is tapered. When those lugs eventually where out it cost $12.oo each to replace. Each tire takes 5 lug nuts, do the math. What stupid engineer at Ford thought this one out. You never know what times bombs are in the Ford vehicles in general. I have been burned for the last time. Letting me drive out of their service bay with a nail in my tire did not go over to well either. Nail was in a bad spot and the, imminent flat, could not be fixed. Maybe that's why?
  20. can to much gas additive "STP" cause a rough idle? relearning idle may not be possible until tank is run low then refilled? Yes i now know that gas additives can be a waist of money.
