  1. HI Ponyguy, Sorry for the long delay in replying. Hope you and your family are all fine. I guess I stopped looking at the forum and manuals as life just happened. But suddenly my car is 6 years old (7 if you count from when it was built) and needs maintenance. I see a couple of manuals on CD or zip drive for about $15-20, so I may try one to see if it has any useful info. Any news on this from your end? Thanks!
  2. HI Everyone, Two questions in this situation... Just wondering if anyone can tell me what tires would have been OE on a 2017 Fusion SE, 2.0 Turbo. I bought car used 3 years ago and the tires that were on it were not originals. Last week, the tire pressure light went on and I noticed a small staple sticking out right where the sidewall meets the ground. Had to get 2 new tires, as the front tires were suddenly very close to the wear bars. Today I found my notes from 2 years ago and all 4 tires were 8/32 then. Can't believe the fronts wore so much in 14k miles. The rears are now 6-7/32s. They wore out evenly so I declined the alignment, but I am having second thoughts now. Any info would be appreciated.
  3. BBF2530, here is an update. A few days after getting new battery, needed to handle some urgent family stuff out of town. So car sat for 3 weeks in unheated garage. Checked before I started it, 11.7 volts. Started right up and seems fine. Seems I am back on track as drove around doing errands today with no issues. Thanks again for the advice.
  4. Drolds, I guess I was. I did look in the OM when this happened, but I must have missed it somehow. I checked today as I don't remember that picture. I was reading a few pages ahead of that, as I was originally thinking an intelligent key issue, as the one of those was needed a 3v battery a couple of weeks ago and I replaced it. Unrelated, and at the same time, car was dealer and something they did caused the other key to become unprogrammed. It's been a very strange and eventful couple of weeks. Up until 2 weeks ago, the car has been fine for 2 years I have had it. Thanks for the info!!
  5. Thanks for replies. Put voltmeter on this morning and it was 0.2 volts. Tried to jump start, nothing.... Unplugged battery and it measured 6.5 volts. There was a dealer less than 10 miles away, so went there and bought new battery. Interesting thing happened when I connected it... I heard something running, like a fan, but not the cooling fan. Right before things died yesterday, I thought I heard that as well, and the person I was meeting yesterday confirmed. Started right up but I didn't shut the car off, or turn anything on until I got home. Turns out the battery was original, date on it said 6/20/2016, which is when the car was built. Original owner purchased in 5/2017. Guess its time was up. The thing I found most infuriating (ok 2 things) was that I couldn't lock the car, and there was absolutely no warning, message, etc. Thanks again to everyone for advice.
  6. Also, would battery just die with no warning like that? Just seems very odd that one minute car is fine and the next, it is completely hosed. I will be going back there with tools and volt meter this morning to get a better idea. Especially nice since downpours have stopped. Dreading making that call to get towed to dealer. Thanks!
  7. Battery is original, so about 4 1/2 years old. Can't remember if original owner bought car in May 2017 or car was built then. When you say properly jump start, would that be different than jump starting any other car? Thanks!
  8. ? Hi All, Need help badly! Car is stuck and cannot lock! Car was fine this morning, until got out and returned a couple of minutes later. Door handle didn't work, so entered code and gained entry, then car wouldn't start. Sync showed a red message about system lock. Then nothing worked, and I mean NOTHING. key fob, keyless entry. So now car is stuck and unlocked. I am so bleeping angry. Tried putting key in cup holder, disconnecting battery. Nothing. Any way to rest this? Maybe with both keys? Thanks in advance!!
  9. Yes, I saw the over $200 ones as well. Don't understand what I changed as I bought those in the past for around $20. Do you have the small or really small trunk? That was one of the reasons I didn't get a hybrid. I had an 87 Grand Marquis. I still miss that trunk!! :) Have a safe trip!!
  10. Ponyguy, for the $15-20 manuals you have found, are they paper copy, or CDs? I bought a Cd for $25 and it is not like the one linked above from 2014 post.
  11. Hi, Just happened upon this topic, does anyone know if cds in this format like this are still available for later years? I bought one for my '17 and it is basically a 21000 pages pdf, horribly organized.
  12. Newer cars are not immune. My '17 had swollen lug nuts. Car was originally in Adirondacks when owned by previous owner. I discovered this thread during the winter and tried the car lug wrench. It fit some tightly but would have needed to be hammered on several others, and there were some that it wasn't going to fit at all. Two weeks ago, tried another lug wrench, as well as Escape lug wrench. Knew I had to replace lugs right away. Rear ones came off without too much trouble, but had some swelling. Fronts were a different story. They were more swollen than rears. Had to hammer lug wrench/socket on at least 4 of them. Glad I got to change before I got a flat and found out the hard way. DrMark, I and my family have had Ford products for over 40 years as well, and have never seen anything as ridiculous as this.
  13. Yes, agree with original post. Change cabin air filter now. Didn't see this when I first bought my 17 before this past winter. Turned on A/C twice in past 2 weeks and it smelled musty, even after turning it off. So decided to change cabin air filter. Car has 31 k miles. In all the cars I have ever owned with cabin air filters, this was by far the most disgusting. Looks like something must have been living there at one time. Vacuumed out where the filter goes and replaced the original. Video was quite helpful. Anyone else have similar findings?
  14. Very disappointing. It is a 21000 page pdf. Not a really useful table of contents. It hosed my windows 7 computer. Will be looking for the red CDs that are really like shop manuals with chapters and such.
  15. If anyone is interested, I did see the red CD for something over $250 and was horrified, as that is more than what Helm charges. Other models were about $20-30. A few days ago, saw a different CD for $25. Giving that a try.
