  1. Ok its not scientific but i have a 28 mile drive to work every day and with 14k miles on it, the best i ever EVER get is around 42mpg and that is with NO heat and NO AC on. Its mostly highway (up to 75 - 80 mph) with some tolls so there is some slowing down and then quick acceleration. I jacked my psi on my tires up to 40 psi yesterday and today I made my normal drive. I was actually stunned to see that I got 46.8 mpg on the same exact route with near identical conditions. :happy feet:

  2. Got in my car this morning started drving and noticed that something wasn't working right with hte nave system. There was no directional arrow and the map was frozen on some odd part of the state. All of my address favorites were grayed out and using sync to input an address didn't work either. I'm stumped on this one. The system was working fine the last time I used the car. It goes to the shop tomorrow. This is only the 2nd time I have had to car in the shop for a warranty issue. the first time was a speedo that quit working. A software bug was the culprit on that one.

Anyone with nav have a similar issue?

Yes that happened to me once... Had to restart to fix it and it never happened again.

  3. The tires are 45 series, that's plenty of protection. Plus the ride is smoother with the Goodyear Eagle RS-A 225/45/R18 tires

I Carpool to work and the guy who rides with me every day said it seemed smoother to. I think the stock fusion wheels are a harder compound for better rolling resistance

These are stock 2010 Ford Fusion 18" wheels

    how much?

  4. Anybody with a FFH (or 2010 Fusion) having issue with the wipers bouncing, and not gliding smoothly in rain? I checked the blades and they seem pliable, although they seem to bend better in one direction than the other. The bounce is much more intense in one direction, and got pretty violent in the last big rain storm.

I did put Rain-X on the windows right after I got the car home. I wonder if it is doing something? I have always used Rain-X as it seemed to help things on my old Accord.

Only had the car for a few days, but love it so far!

I have the problem and i do not use Rain - X

  5. Say what?? Of course in Saskatchewan (Canada) we don't have Pool Lanes, or Tolls, or more then Two lanes of traffic... lol... but a specialty plate would be cool.. and a tax rebate would be cool too. SIgh.

HOV lanes are high occupancy lanes. Basically, you need 2 or 3 passengers to ride in these lanes during rush hour traffic or you get HUGe tickets and the police presence is very considerable. Hybrid plates (clean special fuel plates) in Va allow drivers to drive on those lanes with no passengers. Speeding up their commute considerably.

  6. OK so my FFH with 501a came in on Friday and I have to say I love this car. Being an owner of a camry hybrid I can now accurately compare the two.

Engine: Camry is a little faster but the FFH is not lacking in power. The FFH and CH have the save surge as most hybrids but the fusion seems to be less pronounced.

MPG: Unlike the CH, the FFH seems to in fact get better mileage on secondary roads. The CH does in fact get its best mileage on the highway going around 65.

Comfort: The CH is larger inside, but the FFH is more comfortable. I am 6’3” and the telescoping wheel of the FFH pulls further out from the dash than on the CH so its nicer for tall people.

Controls: FFH controls are closer to the hand and shifter and easier to reach

    Climate: FFH has dual zone

    Stereo: FFH is far superior

Navigation: FFH has far more features, and most of them you can use while driving. The CH shuts almost everything off. Voice controls on the CH are very limited but on the FFH with Sync its almost limitless

I got the black paint which has a metallic flake in the paint which looks absolutely sweet.

Driving: the FFH hybrid and CH are very close in this aspect and I don’t think either has an advantage.

Technological innovation: The FFH is light years ahead of the CH

  7. It will be the door skin, probably not a whole new door. If that is the case, there will be paint work and any person in the auto industry will be able to see the paint work. If it were me, I would pass on that one and wait for a repair free car. $32K+ is too much money for that. Plus the dealer will sell it to someone else.

Part of me would want them to order another and part would be too impatient, but i would have to ask for another car, unless they are willing to sell the car as damaged and "used" because if they sell it to another party that is how they are supposed to sell it.

  8. I picked up my 502A FFH on Tuesday and today took it for a 400 mile drive. Due to the holiday weekend traffic on the interstates and not wanting to push the engine too hard during the break-in period, I stuck to US Highways, using the Nav system to figure it all out. I got 36.8 mpg over the course of the drive.

Se being in FL, im guessing you had the AC running the entire time? IN my Camry Hybrid having the AC on, reduced the MPG about 4mpg

  9. Pay to play. At this point in the life of the FFH, MSRP is as fair as it gets. This car is NOT for everyone. Big discounts and financing deals are for the run of the mill cars. $30k puts it out of reach for the masses and I applaud Ford for protecting the price point of their premium product. That is good business.

HA, i don't anyone on this site who has ordered one has paid MSRP. NOt a chance I would pay MSRP for it, that is for sure.
