Hello All!
I will be the proud new owner of a 2016 Ford Fusion Energi SE Luxury in a few days. (Just waiting for the dealership to get the charger in to take delivery).
So I have a few questions:
1. On A typical car most get oil changes every 3,000 or 5,000 miles, However obviously with an Energi, depending on how you've driven it (Electric mode, or Hybrid Mode) the 3,000 or 5,000 mile oil changes doesn't really apply, Does it? I know the system has an "oil life" gauge, not sure exactly how it calculates that or maybe it's a sensor? But I also have a 2011 F-150 and a 2013 Flex Limited that both have the "oil life" meters and at 5,000 miles there is still like 20-30% oil life left, so we change the oil between 5,000 and 6,000 miles anyway, So what about the Energi?
2. The 2016 Energi has halogen headlights, that will be the FIRST thing I want to change. I have put LED bulbs in my 2011 F-150 and the headlights are AMAZING, my 2013 Flex Limited has factory HID's. The 2016 Fusion Energi has the focused beam (projector) head lights, I have read that LED's aren't good in this type of light, but I believe the newer Fusion's actually have LED headlights from the factory in projectors? I will be driving ~80 miles a day, 40 of which is before the sun comes up on dark highway/country roads, so good headlights is VERY important to me. Can the LED headlights from the 2020 (Maybe 2019's also?) Fusions be installed on a 2016 Fusion? Are there any headlight experts here that can lead me in the right direction here?
3. As mentioned I am going to change the headlights (high & low), also the fog lights, I have ready (as I do not yet have the car in my possession) that the only other lights on the car that are incandescent are the turn signal bulbs in the front? I will want to change those to LED's, especially since I will have to go threw the ridiculous process needed just to change the headlights, I might as well change the turn signals while I am there. Can anyone recommend me good bulbs to use here, I obviously don't want to have to take the head light fixtures out very often (if ever) again.
I think that is all I have for now.
Thanks all!
