  1. Whatever I'm over it and done thinking about it. Cant please the world. People need to be less sensitive.
  2. Actually now that I reread everything a couple times I'm lost as to why this negative stuff even started. If you want to buy a less quality tire for more money because your stuck on a brand then good luck to you, but it really all depends on the person and the car. Now this statement is the negative part we are all concerned about correct? Because everything else is a fact or my opinion in that post. I'm just so lost as to what was negative.
  3. See in my opinion I was nothing but polite. Guess I just don't fit in with the rest of the world. You have you thoughts I have mine. Your opinion is no better than a review from some other guy with his own personal experience also that I don't know. Just because the tires work well on your car doesn't mean they work the same on mine. Just because you post in Ford forums and not on tire rack doesn't make you an expert. I never criticized there suggestions just there state of thinking if they are brand loyal. I am open to all suggestions or I wouldn't be here, but you can't say I'm not listening or completely ignoring there recommendations. Again I have spent a month looking at different tires reading different reviews. All tires have mixed reviews. I could get a pair of Cooper, general, pirella or Continentals but the good year is the cheapest and if they don't hold up o well at least I got 4 for 460ish instead of $800.
  4. Bangster, yea I know its got that rating, that means it's better in the snow then the Continentals right. Plus they beat every other tire but the crossclimates on the tire rack ratings list. And what I meant by I don't need snow tires is I have actually never bought a snow tire. I always have run all seasons. Even back when we used to get feet's of snow where I live, but now days we don't get much at all. I have always been able to get where I needed up hills or down in the snow. Experience and skills plays a major part in snow weather not the tires so much in my opinion, but the snow advantage of tires is not the reason I am buying them instead of the Continental ,it's just a bonus, the price and supposed quality is what sold me.
  5. I should have just been rude since I'm being accused of it anyways. So here. I should have said, if you want to be stupid and stay with a tire because you like the name instead of paying less for a better quality tire then be dumb. All happy? That's the only part ofmy statement that's even remotely negative.
  6. Ok another one, please explain what was the words your all stuck on? What's the terrible words that's so offensive?
  7. Your totally out in left field all by yourself eguru. I was most pleasant with my response. Maybe you shouldn't be so negative and take everything that way because your about to change the tone in the forum with that post.
  8. I had a similar issue awhile back in a 92 Grand am. At 40-50 the wheel shocked violently enough that it was difficult to control but above 50 got better. I think it ended up being a wheel bearing. Just food for thought. At 40k I would think tires but you replaced them. Don't know enough about wheel bearings to tell you anything maybe some one else can chime in.
  9. I don't buy winter tires. That's a waste of money to me. I don't live where they are required. The good year tires are more expensive than all the others but with the rebates they end up being cheaper,so it doesn't make sense to buy a cheaper and lower in ratings tires. If you want to buy a less quality tire for more money because your stuck on a brand then good luck to you, but it really all depends on the person and the car. I'm going to try them because of the price and ratings, but since this will be the first set of tires on this car I won't be able to rate them good until I have another new set to compare against.
  10. Ok everyone update. I ordered the rims and received them. I am really picky about new things. They were not show room condition, but the face (important part) was perfect. The black finished on the lip ,opposite side of the face, has some silver showing like the rims were banged off something and the finish is missing just small spots, and some holes in the black finish on the rounded/ inside/ radius of the rim( opposite side of rim from where the air is compressed) I'm not sure if this is acceptable or not. Don't want them to rust shortly down the road. I plan to take them to a rim shop soon and have them evaluate them. I dry fitted them and everything looks good. I was going to go with those Continental tires I originally wanted but just yesterday I found a better tire at a better price then the Continentals. I'm going with the Goodyear assurance weather ready tires. Guys if your looking for tires right now check these out. Normally $200 for the 225/45r18, but Sam's club has them for $172 plus you get a $80 I instant rebate which drops the price below 4 Continental tires, but wait they get cheaper, should be able to then get the $75 Goodyear mail in rebate, and another $75 off for opening a Goodyear credit card. So they are really cheap for basically the best grand touring tire all season based on tire rack charts. Fyi. 3-5 days for pickup. Thanks everyone. Im just waiting on my tpms stems to come in and I can get these mounted.
  11. Thanks. Maybe vinyl will work. Should be around the same thickness I would think so I wouldn't think it would work better. I may just look for the thinnest tint, I think reg non stactic Kling tint is thinner than the static Kling stuff. May just try the regular and find some kind of a cone shaped item the size of the dots and force the air out somehow maybe with heat. I'll try some stuff this summer 2020.Thanks all.
