  1. Hello, I'm new to the forum! I am hoping someone much more knowledgeable than me can help me solve a problem I am having with my 2007 Ford fusion, 78k miles. (Tl;dr Does anyone know if an 8e5c ABS pump will work on a AWD 2007? Also, if yes, would it work with the 7e5c control unit?) I have included some picture of what is on my car and would appreciate any information. Thank you 2007 Built 12/06 Fusion SE AWD, 6 cylinder More details about what I've done so far: I am having an intermittent brake issue. Most of the time the brakes are fine, but sometimes they get spongy (but still have the same braking effectiveness). If I cause the ABS system to activate, that will sometimes "fix" the brakes. After doing research online, I believe it is an ABS valve in the pump that is sticking partially open. I try to do my own repairs via YouTube and with my father's experience. So far this is the first thing that has really stumped us. All the online sources said the 7e5c abs pump was discontinued, but a 6e5c was compatible. So I ordered it and after getting it and taking out the one in my car found out that it may be compatible with some versions, but the 6e5c is NOT for an AWD, which is what I have... It's a matter of the 6e5c having just 8 valves and the one on my car having 12.... After more digging, and calling up the local Ford dealership (whose only suggestion for a 7e5c was eBay or junkyard...), I was looking at pictures of an 8e5c and they look identical to what's on my car I would appreciate any answers to if an 8e5c ABS pump will work on a AWD 2007 as well as, if yes, would it work with the 7e5c control unit? Thank you.
