I believe that this model has 3 safety recalls.

I am wondering how long it takes to get the safety recall repairs completed. I need to get all three recall repairs done. If they can be done in a day that would be great. If it takes longer, then I will need a rental car. Will the dealership give me a courtesy car? Or, is this an out-of-pocket expense? Thank you for your help.

I never solved this problem. The car will still occassionally stop for no reason.

So, Autozone tells me that they can't read the codes unless the check engine light is on. This is what the service guy at the service department for the used cars told me. I suppose some equipment is more sophisticated than others. Perhaps the equipment at the service department for the newer cars can check for codes (current and historical), but the equipment at these places cannot.

The service guy said if it is the throttle body, fuel pressure system, etc., that it would be covered by the little warranty I bought. So, I am about to take some side streets to the Auto Zone. Thanks guys!

It does not rev up at all. Due to miles, the only factory coverage is corrosion. I don't know if I trust these people. I think I will go to Auto Zone and see if they can check the codes.

I asked the service guy if they could just read the codes from the computer. He said if the check engine light isn't on, they can't read any codes!

Interesting, the original document on the car had "Dealer Warranty" checked. The one she gave me had "As Is" on it. Yet, a 12 month/12,000 miles warranty comes with it! I am currently at the service department. Another customer told me he is having a similar problem. Can the dealership put the car on the computer to see if it's the throttle body?

Thank you for your reply! I just bought this car 2 days ago. Considering that I spent all off my money to buy the car that is, apparently, unsafe to drive, the dealership needs to fix this!

So, I just bought a 2016 Fusion SE on 12/23/19. Only drove it from the dealership and home that night, no issues. The next day, 12/24, ran some errands around town. Was stopped at a light in the left lane, light changed, started to give it some gas, and nothing! I could not accelerate. The lights were on the dashboard, but the car was dead in the water. It was like it was in neutral. I put on my hazard signal and was able to get off the road. Put her in park, turned the car off and back on, started up perfectly. Ran more errands and it did the exact same thing about 2 hours later!!! This scared the bejeezus out of me! We could have been killed if a car behind me was traveling at high speed. I can't get to the dealership until Thursday morning. Anyone experience this? Thank you!
