Just bought salvage title 2012 Fusion Sel with ft end and left ft damage. Car started ok. Noticable mechanisal issues were: dash warning lights lit up like Christmas tree, bent left ft suspension, no power steering, auto trans cooling line leaking, drivers side trans mount broken, fuse panel housing broken, air cleaner housing broken, trans speed sensor broken, left front upper control arm bent, electrical harness from interior drivers side firewall that runs under fuse panel along left side of engine compartment to left and right front light assemblies with various branches exiting harness along the way. That harness had been partially severed about two feet beyond the fuse box towards the front of the car. I disassembled enough to have unobstructed access to damaged area and methodically spliced (soldered, shrink tube, and dielectric treated about twelve 16 gauge color coded wires. NOW... Here is where I think I screwed up. There were also about 5 plain black wires. Assuming that these were all ground wires and I simply spliced each up stream black to a down stream black. I KNOW! VERY VERY DUMB. I also replaced two 50 steering assist fuses and one fuse for the left low beam headlight. Obviously, I should have verified starter operation but didn't. SO____ How do I determine correct pairing of those black wires when i get this harness apart again. My attempt to utilize a wiring schematic failed as I am quite weak in that area. I'm assuming this is very likely the source of all my problems. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated
