Hi I have the same problem and I did what you say to know if my valve is bad, I blow into it and its open, I can hear the sound of the air coming out. Also I filled the fuel tank and the engine stalled again. I already ordered the new valve and I expect it arrives soon. I hope that changing the purge valve solve the problem.
