  1. Well, apparently there is a map update available for my 2009 Ford Fusion SEL AWD Navigation system, but I can't get it! I called the # for map updates, spoke with someone at Ford of Canada customer service, was told that "at this time, there is no map update as Ford is in negotiations with NAVTEQ, the company that makes the DVD based system." What a crock of shit....you pay over $2,000.00 for a NAV system, there is a map update available (it says that there is on the NAVTEQ website) but you can't get the update, because Ford is in negotiations? Please....that's just not acceptable. Here in Ontario, a relatively new law has required that many road names/etc. have been changed to accomodate enhanced 911 service. The new names/addresses are NOT in the current nav system/maps in my car. This is very frustrating to say the least. I called my dealer (as suggested by Ford of Canada) to get them to check into this. I'll report back when I know something. In the meantime if anyone else has any new information on this topic I'd really appreciate hearing about it.

    Cheers from Canada.

I wish I had some different news for you, but I'm having the problem also. Navteq site, says check with your Ford dealer, so I did. The Ford dealer, says Navteq, is not a vendor for them at the moment, so there is nothing they can do.

It's a totally different story than when I bought the car, I was told an updated version would be available this summer.

I would also appreciate hearing about it if anyone has better news.

  2. Well, a drunk took out my Dakota and new Fusion Hybrid last night. Hit my neighbor's Accord which was crushed against my Dakota, which in turn took out the rear of the Fusion. This should be interesting. I can't see Progressive (his insurance) wanting to total a brand new 33k Fusion, but I can't see the repairs being quick or cheap either. I can insist all work be done at Ford, and they will have to pay for a car for the months involved. Then, of course, I can try a claim for diminished value based on the loss of value due to the police report and carfax...

The Dakota is toast. Going to be interesting valuing a 10 year old Dakota with 42k miles.

I enjoyed it while I had it.

Ouch, that was painful to read!!! Not just the pain of your new car being crushed, but the headache of dealing with it all.

If they total the ffh and you buy another one, I guess you can get a tax credit for each ffh right?

I don't know what to say, but good luck to you.

  3. Hello all,

Tuesday, I placed a deposit down for a FFH, 502A w/ the Remote Start (Black, Stone) and I have a few questions. First off, I'd like to say "Hello!" to everyone and look forward to hanging out here.

To those who have taken delivery, are the power mirrors heated? According to Ford's website, they are only available on the Sport, but the website also has them listed as standard on the hybrid.

Also, is there a way to track my order online? I do not have a VIN yet, but I have a copy of the order sheet from the dealer (including MSRP and "Invoice" pricing).

    Thanks guys!

We got ours, and yes the mirrors are heated. Good luck and Congratulations

  4. We ordered a light ice blue with the 502A package on March 30. Four weeks of waiting to get a vin, and still no schedule date, was more than our patience (or lack there of) could bear.

So when our dealer got a light ice blue with a 501A package, plus the navigation system, we bought it. The only thing different that what we ordered, was the cloth seats instead of leather.

So kudos to those of you that have the patience (that we did NOT have) to wait for what you ordered.

  5. Hi, I ordered my FFH Platinum White 502a on 3/30 and have yet gotten a VIN. Is this abnormal? I read some of the members here got their VINs recently after ordering just before th 4/1 deadline. I've been bugging my dealer numerous times and they are just telling me that I'll be informed once Ford pulls the order for production. Anyone can shed some light on how many units are ordered in the last weekend of March?

We are in the same boat as you. We also ordered on March 30th, a light ice blue, package 502a. And we also keep bothering the dealer, only to be told maybe We'll know something next week. Wish I could help with the frustration, because that might mean we had an answer.

Hope someone out there can shed some light

  6. Hi, does anyone have any recommendations about finding a Fusion? I have settled on the options that I would like and it is nearly impossible to find the car I want. I have worn out my mouse on ford.com trying to search through the dealers inventory. Twice I have found the car in a dealers inventory, and both times it was a dealer demo car. Is there a way to do a global search at ford?

    I am looking for:

    2009 SE Fusion V6

    Blue Suede package

    Advance Trac with ESC

Preferably in Silver, Ink Blue or Black with a spoiler

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried cars.com ? I thin you can look up to 250 miles

  7. Mercury tends to run little higher than ford. We had a mercury salesman that Mercury tends to have more bells and whistles, such as maybe a little fancier front end or healights.

He likened the ford/mercury comparison to the toyota/lexus difference. I don't know if that's an accurate comparison or not, but that was his explanation.

    Any opinions?

  8. Went and picked up my brilliant silver FFH on Friday. I have to say I'm loving this car. I have been driving Honda's all my life and this car easily meets Honda's quality and nice driving feel. It feels real comfortable driving, love the smart gauge, helps me drive more efficiently. Takes turns great, very low cabin noise, suspension feels nice (not to bouncy, can feel the road) the breaks are a little squishy, but you get used to them fast. Sony sound system rocks, Sync is cool. I'm happy I got the moon roof too.

The weirdest thing is turning the car on. You litterly cant even tell if the car is on, except for the green car lite in the smart gauge.

Took the car up to our parents for Easter and took them for a drive, they were also impressed. Back seats are roomy and comfortable. Got about 38-43 mpg. So far I'm very impressed and happy with the FFH.

    :shift:

Congratulations!!!!! When did you order yours?

  9. Is that true? On March 31 I ordered a green FFH with black leather, 502a package. If a nearby dealer has that car, can't I get my dealer to swap one of his cars for that car without losing my tax credit? Or do I have to buy the ordered car to qualify?

That's what our dealer implied to us. But if anyone else has heard anything else, I would Love to hear about it.

  10. Grey,

    Thanks for the info.

We ordered ours on March 30. And we keep looking at other dealers as they get one in. None, has the exact color with the package we want.

Of course, I know We'll have to wait or loose $1700.00 of the $3400.00 tax credit.

    Thank again for the info.
