  1. Looking to replace my current 2015 Ford Fusion titanium Sony radio control panel (looks like this https://ebay.to/2VoxbSj model #DS7T-18E245-PA) with the newer model, GS7T-18E245-BAC (https://ebay.to/2VmgJlv) as I like the physical buttons better, and there are heated seat controls built in. Didn't know if the connectors on the back would be the same or if I need to do some software mods in for scan or something. I figure its just a series of buttons and switches so I wouldnt think so but could be wrong. I expect to at some point do DanMc85's Sync 3 upgrade as well, probably along with this if it looks to be feasible.
  2. Just got it back from the dealer. Fog light housing was busted and they replaced that, they said that there really wasn't any thing wrong with the wheel but they ran it through the machine they use to straighten it anyway to make sure. Also did transmission service, was told that the fluid wasn't really black, just a bit darker, but the car does seem to be shifting better and making less noise. I took it back to the mechanic I brought it to in the first place to take him up on his offer to drive it around the block just to make sure its fine, and he said that its definitely better than when he first drove it, still hearing slight noise here and there but that may just be the nature of the transmission. Also recommended having it changed again at some point to flush out the last of the old fluid that may be in there. I mean it does have a bit of a whine/whirring noise when accelerating from a stop into the first second gears or so, then quiets down. I drove a relatives 2019 Mazda just bought over a month ago and it seemed to make the same noise. I think its a bit more pronounced in my car as the engine itself is nearly silent from inside the car, especially at low speeds.
  3. Looking at switching out the current 2015 fusion headlights with the ones from the 2015 mondeo, as they include led drl's. I know there would be a couple software changes in forscan, but this isn't where I think im going to run into a problem. firstly, I cant find anywhere to get these verified oem for under 500 for the pair. Also, didnt know if the legalities are the same in us as they are for uk, so not positive that this headlight would be legal in us. thoughts would be appreciated.
  4. Hi, there is no collision history for the car (I assume you knew this given you said "undeclared") but the fog light is on the passenger side and bent wheel is on the drivers side so it doesnt seem like the two would be related. The only thing the mechanic told me about was the wheel so I believe that thats the extent of the damage to the car. the mechanic did say in his write up that when he checked the fluid levels it "started to drip out barley" (assuming he meant to say barely as if barley oats are dripping out of my transmission I think it has more problems than I thought lol) but yes thats how he knew that the fluid was black. The bent wheel is actually something that surprises me as I have not noticed anything wrong with the drive quality in the car, but I hope that my mechanic, once he saw a bent rim, checked the possible parts it would effect. You said that a bent rim can effect the transmission, are you implicating it could be causing any of the symptoms im experiencing with the transmission?
  5. the fog light is plugged in and working, its just that it has come loose of the clips that are supposed to hold it in place
  6. Hi, I wasn't planning on necessarily following any and all advice I got here, but figured it wouldnt hurt to reach out to get some input. car had just under 78k when I bought it, is now approaching 80. meant to write fog light is out of socket, its just loose a bit and needs to be snapped into place. How is a wheel checked? and the mechanic I brought it to didnt say anything about there being anything wrong with the wheel bearings. Just said a bent rim, which while yes isn't cheap for at worst new wheel for the car, isn't a $5000 new transmission. Someone on another forum said these cars do run darker transmission fluid that gets darker and faster than some other cars, and that the transmission fluid could easily have been filled low from the factory. Didn't know if these are common symptoms where the source of the problem is obvious to someone who may be more educated about cars & transmissions than I. At this moment I probably won't try to get a refund because I do honestly think that the dealer is trying to provide good customer service. I just am putting up the whole story here to see if anyone sees any big red flags im missing. As for AAA, that would be because of various problems with a different older car, where AAA gives you 4 service calls a year, and after that, $$$.
  7. A month or so ago I bought a 2015 Ford Fusion titanium ecoboost 2.0 liter 6 speed automatic front wheel drive from a well reviewed and family owned used car dealership for just under 10k, with a written 60 day warranty. The owner of the business knew the previous owner of the car and said it was kept in good condition as his daily driver. When I got the car it had new tires, rear brakes, and rear rotors. Within 2 weeks, I had 2 problems with the car, the first amounting to a fuel rail sensor and the second being a dead battery. The owner was very nice and apologetic for these issues, replacing the parts for free (although I have had to shell out my own money, first to get it towed there for the fuel rail sensor and second for a jump from AAA when the battery died). I realize what I'm about to say is something I should have done before even buying the car, I just a few days ago got it checked out by a mechanic to make sure its up to snuff. I hadn't done it earlier because the car was running fine and I assured that anything found the dealer would take care of. 3 things were found wrong with the car: 1. the right fog light is used out of tis socket (not something I'm concerned about, seems like a 5 minute fix) 2. the front left wheel has a bent rim, and while I'm not happy about that I'm sure it too is a simple fix. The last thing, however, is that the transmission is making a slight whining noise at certain speeds, and is also shifting oddly. The mechanic checked the transmission fluid and it was a quart low and "completely black". The mechanic said that he's not an expert with transmissions, but the whining noise makes him think its a loose bearing, which would mean the transmission is on the way out and needs a new transmission. Now while I'm still under the impression that the dealer will fix whatever is wrong, hearing the phrase "new transmission" sends shivers down my spine. I called the dealer to ask about this and to get reassurance for the situation and he said to bring it in to take a look at it to fix whatever was necessary, and that he has a transmission guy that can look at it. He says that he'll do anything to fix it, but if the transmission still works and does everything it supposed to, he wouldnt give it a new transmission unless it actually needed one, saying it is a used car and parts do age. He said that he'd extend the warranty for the transmission to one year if it helps me feel more comfortable, and while I do think I'm dealing with someone who cares about customer service, I don't want to be driving my car around the next year waiting for the transmission to go out. I don't even know yet if the transmission is really about to go out, this is again from a mechanic who said he doesnt specialize in transmissions. I hope that the dealer's transmission guy properly diagnoses whats wrong with the car and doesnt water it down to avoid shelling out for a new transmission. I'm also worried that these 3 things that the mechanic found along with the battery and fuel rail sensor were something that got past the dealer when selling it to me in the first place. Anyone have any advice here? what can be wrong with my car? and will this guy properly handle fixing it?
  8. any idea if anyone sells mod kits? led assemblies meant to fit a 2015? or barring any of that am I just stuck with led bulbs?
  9. I have a 2015 Ford Fusion titanium, and I was looking into the possibility of installing the 2017 Fusion LED headlight assembly, as I would think they would fit. Does anyone know for sure? connectors and all? and, is there a way for me to buy these without having to sell any of my major organs?
  10. As far as I’m aware removing the door panel is fairly simple. Just a few bolts to remove and not much to break in the process. But I don’t want to just go digging in there without getting an idea of what to look for, which is what brings me here. What latch?
  11. I have a 2015 Ford Fusion Titanium Ecoboost 2.0L L4 and when I'm going fast on the highway, say 55-60, and step on the gas to speed up, the car takes a second before revving the engine to speed up. I'm not sure if this is typical behavior, it very well could be, but its something I noticed so I figured I might as well ask about it. thanks.
  12. I have a 2015 Ford Fusion Titanium EcoBoost with the 12 speaker setup and I can hear a weird vibration noise when certain sounds were played. I listened to a variety of songs to see if I could find one it was really strong for so I could play it and accurately pinpoint the location (oddly enough the song was the beginning of “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5) and the sound seems to be coming from this location on the passenger side door (not my car just pulled a random picture online). I found this very odd because I don’t see any vents for a speaker or anything, but for all I know it’s something else under there. The sound settings were bass +3 mids +2 treble +1 and I have surround on. Thoughts? Thanks.
  13. I dont think that its the same antenna I think it is something that would be directly connected to the remote start module, although I could be wrong. I am very surprised though that there is not more information on this, I would've thought something like this would be common knowledge, but I guess not. Cant find anything about this online. How would I PM bangster? I'm new to this forum. Joined it just to get this question answered.
  14. Whatever’s the maximum range I can get with the hardware I have. All I want to have to add is an antenna, not a new transmitter and receiver and all that stuff. The antenna I listed earlier in this thread says it works up to 2500 ft, which would be great if I can get that.
  15. oh too bad. Not sure if this makes a difference but it does have heated seats, didnt know if that may mean it already has some of those components you mentioned.
