I have found alot of information regarding replacement of the plastic canister type filter housing with the spin on type housing. This looks like a good idea, seeing as the plastic cap on my fusion is beat up. My questions are as follows: What part number do I need for the adapter housing for a 2008 Fusion 2.3L? Does the adapter housing from a 2008 Focus with 2.0L fit my 2.3L? How about an adapter from a 2008 2.3L Ford Ranger? Are BS4Z6881F adapter and gasket 1S72-6840-AA compatible with my car? (which appears to be an Ford OEM product) I have also seen numbers like L301-14-310 and 1F20-14-310B I have already looked through my local salvage yards, and they have nothing to offer, so I will be looking on EBAY. I have also looked on the mazda forums, and can't quite pinpoint the compatibility. Iwent so far as to call Ford, and they recommend staying with the original equipment. thanks!
