  1. I have a 2015 Ford Fusion SE 2.5L and have been having an issue where the engine will crank normally but will not start. However, when I turn the key to the "ON" position for a few moments, turn the key off, then try to start it will fire right up. Ford Dealer said it may be a faulty sensor and to come in for the $130 diagnostic. Any help?
  2. It is the 2.5L yes. When I got in, I closed the door and put the key in the ignition turning the key and waiting, then turning it to the off position (repeated 3 times before attempting to start) and the car fired up the first time. The second time I tried this it did not work but I kept trying hitting the gas and it started. The third time I tried this technique it started up again. EDIT: At 10:01 pm I tried this method again, turning to the on position and off again three times and the car started right up.
  3. I have a 2015 Ford Fusion SE 2.5L L4 DOHC 16V with 70,000 miles on it. When I turn the key the engine cranks and the starter spins normally but does not start. The car will start eventually after I pump the gas. Sometimes it starts on the 2nd crank, sometimes the 10th. I had the battery tested and it is fine and I also had the car scanned to check for any hidden codes that might be being thrown and nothing came up. I assume at this point it has to do with the fuel system as I unhooked the battery terminal to reset the computer and the issue still persists. Does anyone have any advice on anything else I can try to remedy this issue? Best, PS: I have a $130 diagnostic scheduled with Ford on Saturday (February 15) that I'd rather not have to pay for if I can figure out what is wrong by myself. Thanks in advance for any help. EDIT: after seeing a video online where a guy shook his car and had someone else start it with the same issue, this, in fact, did not remedy what I am experiencing. EDIT EDIT: The vehicle will start if I turn the key to prime the engine then turn it off before turning to start.
