  1. Is there a, for sure, strong point I can use to jack the car up with a floor jack and hold it up with a Jack Stand? They sure are not built like they used to be. Thanks for any replys.
  2. As I understand it camber is adjusted by different length control arms. My 2009 SE V6 pulled right from new and was corrected to very good with a control arm replacement, by the dealer under warranty. Keep after the service manager and Ford. I consider this a safety issue.
  3. My 09 V6 does it also. Either the car got better or I have gotten used to it after 4800 miles.
  4. 4600 miles 2009 SE V6. Fails to start first try 4 times. Low rpm knock that comes and goes maybe every fourth start. hfb
  5. 2009 SE V6 same problem. It has happened 4 times in 4200 miles. Engine cold and warm. It always starts on the second try. I also have had the emergency flashers come on when the car starts several times. I get a knock sometimes for a while that goes away. The dealer has heard the knock but it quit to quick to trouble shoot.
  6. Thanks for your reply. hfb
  7. I suspect the Fusion front end has no toe in. In times past cars had both front wheels point in a small amount to give a little stability to the direction of travel. With no toe in the car will follow the slope of the road more. My Fusion now goes straight on level ground but still follows the slope to the right on most streets. I suspect a small amount of fuel is lost due to the drag caused by toe in.
  8. Does each bank of cylinders, on the V6, have a separate Cat. Conv.?
  9. I heard from the service mgr this morning. A lower control arm was replaced and it is much better if not perfect. A complete four wheel alignment was done. I have a soft knock at idle, not yet identified, left to be fixed. The focus loaner had a grinding sound in the front end when I got it a week ago that has now gone.I will bet the grinding comes back. hfb
  10. I gave the car to the service manager Tuesday 31 may 2009. They replaced the upper control arm and did an alignment. It still pulls to the right so they have kept it this weekend. I have a Focus loaner. I also have a slight knock a idle for short periods of time they are trying to diagnose and fix.
  11. 2009 SE V6 same problem. I went to the dealer last week and was blown off. After reading the article I went back this morning and only spoke to the service mgr. He assured me they would fix it "if it could be fixed". I will go back net week to find out. I will report back the result.
  12. If the nitrogen stays in the tire while the oxygen and other components of air excape , sooner or later the tire will be filled with virtually pure nitrogen. I have never found tires to need less recharging as the years go by. I suspect the only real value would be the nitrogen is dry where most compressed air as water vapor in it.
  13. Thank you, Yes it does have hoses as well as an electrical connection. Am I right in thinking it turns gasoline vapor back to liquid?
  14. 2009 SE V6. There is what looks like a good sized electronic box of some kind mounted under the car, and below the spare tire. Can anyone tell me what it is?
  15. I just got 1080 miles on my 2009 SE V6. At about 500 miles I made a 450 mile round trip on I20. I drove pretty much 70 MPH all the way. The computer showed a 26.4 mile average at first, yes I cleared it after getting on I20 and getting to 70MPH, and 30.4 by the time I got home. I am going to go again in about two weeks. If there is any interest I will post the results. I don't believe the car is damaged at all by this kind of use. Twenty two hundred RPM is light duty. Wide open on the Autoban for 200 miles is another story. I also stop midway for lunch in both directions giving some cool down time. If any high mileage drivers read this I would like to know the long term life of the 3L V6.
