  1. Thanks for the correction. I must have committed the synthetic to memory because the other doesn't apply to me
  2. Yes...check the manual. It is recommended.
  3. Wow that is a bad job. It's a little hard to do but still doable. Mine completely covers the glass area.
  4. Got mine from http://buy-ford-warranty.com/ then called Ford Customer Care (gave them my VIN) and they confirmed that my warranty was legit. End of that question!
  5. Mine works both ways also. If it doesn't then probably a cutting problem. You can ask for spare blades - he'll send you one free if you pay for $5 shipping.
  6. Jon, I agree the system is too complicated to calculate by one formula. My reply is just the shortcut in the math formula presented. As suggested, maybe Ford has a quick and dirty average they use - not applicable for all, but as a fleet average; not a real burning question to me, just interesting topic.
  7. Nice math work...you'd get the same approximation answer by the following shortcut: (ICE MPG)/(Avg MPG)*(Total Miles)=(ICE MIles) and (EV Miles) = (Total Miles)-(ICE Miles) For your assumptions: 25/38*4000 = 2632 ICE Miles; 4000-2632=1368 EV Miles (same as ([Avg MPG]-[iCE MPG])/[Avg MPG]*[Total miles]))
  8. Thanks for the tips on this flip key (corrected key positions made programming faster and tip on blade removal made it easier to find a locksmith who would touch it). I got mine this week, cut today and programmed in less than 1 minute.
  9. You're welcome and "ha ha." I found it by accident. I went in the car getting ready to start it and forgot something so I took the key out and saw that it showed the last trip.
  10. To see your last trip summary again, you can put the key back in, turn to position 3-"on" ("start" is position 4, for reference), wait until your all of your dash displays are set and remove key. You should see the summary again. It may require you to close the doors first.
  11. It sounds like DORA, but wouldn't hurt to ask your dealer for a copy if is is not. Ford has implied that DORA date is enough to claim the tax credit. Many articles in the internet also interpret the tax law that way. I have yet seen a clarification from IRS. I'm in the same boat (ordered when credit was $3400, took delivery when credit was $1700). FDAF, from what I understand, is regional advertising fee that is tacked on all vehicles. You may be able to get them to waive this, but I guess it's a long shot.
  12. The dealer probably screwed up and gave you random VIN to appease you. My guess is that they ordered your FFH when you returned and gave him a deposit. This puts it at about 7-8 weeks of estimated delivery which is about what most are experiencing. Seems like you're very eager to take delivery of this vehicle and it's justified, but nothing you can do now to speed this up. The tax credit is currently $1700. The deadline of Sept 30 is set by IRS, not Ford. Get your DORA so you can claim your $1700 instead of $850 after 9/30. Looks like your contact is telling you many things wrong.
  13. Mine seemed to have been available on 5/6/09 (per printed date on window sticker). Took delivery on 5/22. Took two weeks I guess, but also dependent on transit time.
  14. I also gamble because I have a 401k
  15. Nice tracking! Nice to see that some of your calculated MPG is higher than FFH estimates. My calculated is always 1.5-2MPG lower than FFH display.
  16. I think on occasion mine would go up to 80%...fairly rarely though. It happens if I had to brake more than normal and when I accelerate fast off the light (battery charges).
  17. Yeah I'm happy for you. I know it has been painful but hopefully the car's quality will make it worth your excruciating experience. I'm guessing that your vehicle was being detailed before delivery. But water under the bridge now. I hope their service department is not as clueless as their Sales. Good thing you know the ESP price before walking in. You can decide whether it is a deal or not. You can use the extra ~$200 to feed YOUR kids.
  18. Maybe some cosmetic damage during the build that needed part replacement? Or maybe service bulletin work?
  19. Isn't the maintenance plan only for service work, not warranty work? Or did you get both ESP ad Maintenance? That same dealer offers Maintenance plan for 7 years for $1000. When I bring mine for my first oil change (free) I'll see how much they charge and decide if it's a good deal. Maximum 10 visits for that package.
  20. When I bought mine, no tax! I'm in CA and the seller, I think if I remember right, is in Indiana.
  21. Hi Noel, there are a couple of threads covering this same topic although they could be lengthy, but I got exactly the same coverage for $1205 from http://secure.buy-ford-warranty.com (recommended by smr2112). I have the same thought about the electronics, although I'm glad to have extra coverage on the rest of the car too. Price is the key and bottom line is that I'm looking for value!
  22. If it's well done, I would think it would not be too visible. The alternative is much more apparent.
  23. If I had to do it over again, I would ask them to tint just short of the black dot area. I think that would look much better.
  24. I noticed my Palm Pre does this from time to time...but my old HTC phone didn't at all. I think it's phone manufacturer dependent?
