  1. I’d like to share my insight here: 2013 ford fusion titanium owner here: Ever since 92000 miles or so I have noticed harsh shifting. I took it too a local ford dealer at 100,000 and we diagnosed cv axel leak low 2 quarts of fluid. Fixed this issue, did drain and refill, still an issue with the hard shifting. 104,000 decided to put new sparks and coils in after a dedicated trans shop told me he diagnoses as “engine miss at heavy throttle.” This was a pointless repair for the transmission issue but at least those plugs and packs shouldn't go bad for the rest of the life of the car. Decided at 107000 to take it to another dealer (where I bought my car). They suggested a $240 trans flush with their machine. I agreed as the shifting was getting more and more harsh. Got it back and the shifting got a WHOLE lot worse. It seemed to be skipping gears and delaying as if it was entering a “neutral” for a bit longer before shifting to the next gear. I got pretty upset thinking I just spent $240 to ruin this transmission. I took it back up there 5 days later and we determined the machine failed to put in .5 to .75 of a quart of fluid. They told me this caused the issue but I didn't really know how that would've when the other dealer said it was low 2 quarts prior and it wasn't as bad as its current state. Anyway, I was driving at night and noticed my ambient light settings were turned off, as well as my nighttime dash lights were up to the max. My theory is they did a reset by battery (or some computer tools they have) and that was the true fix to this transmission. They never told me any of this though, they just said they added fluid. Problem is 100% solved at this point in time. It shifts much better than it did since 92,000 and I no longer have any issues :D.
  2. Sparks and coils changed out, and it has not fixed the kicking during shift. 1-2 seems better, but 2-3 is still kicking for me. I cannot say for sure if this even fixed any problem other than maybe better idle. At this point I have lost hope and going to consider this “normal.” As two techs from the ford dealership had test drove my car and both of them did not see any hard kicking. I got into the car and took off and could feel the kick right off the bat. Im out of options, especially after the above Sparks/coils tune up costed me $570 to do... at least they should last the rest of the cars life (y)
  3. Hello, Sorry to revive the thread AGAIN, but I as well as probably quite a few others that come across this thread would really love to find an answer. I'm sadly becoming discouraged that there is even a fix. I bought a 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium about 2, maybe 2 and a half years ago @ 61,000 miles. When I bought the car, I never really noticed a very heavy shift and needless to say I had purchased an aftermarket warranty on the car for up to 95,000 or 3 years whichever comes first. I'm currently at 103,000 miles. From 61k -> 95k everything seemed pretty decent. At 90-92k I had to have a tensioner pully replaced, an air conditioner compressor replaced (both $1,300 total covered under the warranty thankfully), and the pesky wheel speed sensor which took a crap in the snow I believe the second winter I had it and lit up the dash like a Christmas tree (I was so upset and relieved to realize that fix only costs $100 @ fords dealerships). Anyway long story short, warranty has run out and I am noticing very hard shifts between 1-2 and 2-3 now. I have taken it to fords dealership which usually does my oil changes for me, and asked them to diagnose this issue. We determined the CV Axel (or whatever it is somehow is connected to the transmission fluid, I'm not much knowledgeable on cars) was leaking the trans fluid and my trans fluid was low 2 quarts. They fixed that, and did a drain/refill on my transmission fluid. The shifting went away for maybe 4-7 days and then it come back. I was fed up, so I took it to a local reputable transmission shop to diagnose if its a transmission issue. This shop had said he's confident its not a transmission issue, but more an engine miss at heavy throttle. Now its back in the shop for a wheel bearing replacement and I asked them to really look into the shifting issue. I suggested to do a tune up and maybe change the sparks/wires/coil packs. The tech has said he sees no shifting issue except for once as it was going down a hill. I'm still pretty confused on this because it happens all of the time with me.... I start driving and my whole body gets jerked around when it shifts in those gears. This is where I am at now with this situation. Tomorrow they do the tune-up service hopefully depending on the overall cost and I will see if this fixes my issues. Any suggestions/information beyond what this post already has (which isn't too much other than to replace the transmission etc etc) would be extremely helpful.
